NTMS Letters for Lumberjacks
September 20th, 2024
A Note from Mrs. Miranto and Dr. Pray
It is hard to believe that we are closing out the month of September. Our 7th graders have adjusted to the middle school life and our 8th graders are being exceptional leaders of the building. We want to also thank all of the families that came to open house. Fostering a strong school-home connection is very important to us. We look forward to the month of October and the fun community building activities we have planned.

Check Out What is Happening in Physical Education
For the first few days of school, we have enjoyed this beautiful weather, outdoors, on our turf football field. We are currently playing touch football. This entire unit, students are competing to get into the NTMS Superbowl. The NTMS Superbowl will be held during gym classes on Monday 9/30 and Tuesday 10/1. Pictures of each winning team will be displayed on the PE Hall of Fame wall, located in our gym hallway!
Students were also introduced to our weight room facility. Throughout this school year, students will be focusing on the 5 components of fitness and how to improve upon each area. They will also learn how to design a safe and effective workout plan.
Students are able to sign up to work out in the weight room after school with Mrs. Collins Tuesday & Thursdays from 2:35-3:20

Important Information
Getting your child to school daily is important. If you are struggling, please reach out to your child's counselor: Mrs. Hawkins (7th grade) or Mrs. Vecchio (8th Grade).
September marks the beginning of the school year and Attendance Awareness Month, a period dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of school attendance, the negative impact of chronic absence, and strategies to engage students in school. “Chronic absence” is defined as missing at least 10% of the school days for which a student is enrolled over the course of an academic year for any reason. It serves as an early warning sign that children may be falling behind academically and are at risk of academic failure.
