KMS Personalized Counseling Services

The counselors at KMS are working daily to meet the needs of our students through a variety of personalized services. All students will meet with the counselor in the fall and again in the spring for the 1:1 connection experience. In these meetings, the students will have the opportunity to discuss their goals and aspirations, and discuss the options for their personal path in Humble ISD.

During our 1:1 meetings, we are able to help students find ways to connect on campus through various clubs, organizations, and counselor facilitated small groups, assist students with setting SMART goals for this school year and beyond, as well as answer questions about post-secondary plans.

Our Comprehensive Counseling Services

A comprehensive school counseling program is an integral component of our mission.

Comprehensive school counseling programs are driven by student data and based on the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Program guidelines.

For classroom guidance, counselors visit classrooms multiple times per year to deliver lessons based on the Great 8 skills. Each nine weeks we are focusing on a different Great 8 Skill.

Self-Management Tip

LISTEN to understand. A good strategy to help understand our children is simply to take time to listen. When dealing with anger, the reason for a behavior they exhibit may not always be what we think. This illustrates many underlying reasons for a child's anger.
