Week of May 25, 2025 Week of May 25, 2025

Good Evening Tigers,

This is Noel Keener, the proud principal of Ragsdale High, with this week's updates. We hope you had a great 3 day weekend!

The countdown continues! Now there are only FIVE more school days until exams!! If your teachers accept late work, this is likely the last week they will accept it. Double and triple check for any missing assignments, quizzes, or tests that can still be made up. It is very important to BE HERE and be on time every day so that you have every opportunity to do your best as we end the year.

Teacher made exams will be held June 3rd and 4th. June 3rd we will have first and third block teacher exams. June 4 we will have second and fourth block exams. Attendance will be taken and all students should attend class each day. Students with state exams will continue with regular class those days. June 5th we will have state exams for students who are taking Math 1, Math 3 or a CTE Exam. June 6th we will have Biology and English 2 exams, as well as CTE exams for students who had a math exam on June 5th. Only students with state exams are expected to come to school June 5 and 6.

We will have the English 2 EOC Blitz after school on Tuesday, a Math 3 EOC Blitz after school Wednesday and a Math 1 EOC BLitz after school Thursday. All students taking these exams are welcome.

Seniors, do you want to leave your mark on Ragsdale? Paint a senior square after school May 23rd - June 6th. Pay $11 on School Cash and sign up using the QR code in the newsletter. Also, don't forget you have your first graduation practice this week on Friday here on campus. Please be at school on time. Practice begins at 9:15! You'll then be treated to the senior picnic. Senior parents, that means this is the last week to sign up to donate or volunteer for the picnic. Please see the flyer in our newsletter.

Guilford County Schools and the Department of School Safety has asked that all schools share the following information: The end of the year is a busy and exciting time for our students and families. As the temperatures rise and our academic work comes to a close for the year, we also tend to see more impulsive actions from our students. Please remind your child that communicating a threat has serious consequences, both at the school and law enforcement levels. We ask that everyone refrain from spreading rumors, and please only share information that you can personally verify. Information should be shared with a teacher or administrator. We take every threat seriously, and we appreciate your help to encourage students to think about the consequences of their behavior before they act.

Thank you , have a great week, and, as always, TIGER PRIDE!

Shout Outs Shout Outs

Congratulations to our students of the week!

  • Jonathan Ayres – 11th grade – nominated by Mr. Johnston – He says of Jonathan, “Jonathan ALWAYS exhibits personal responsibility. Put simply: he handles his business... big things and little things. He is putting his all into preparing for the AP Precalculus exam, asking good questions, and locking into class lectures. He treats others with the utmost respect and always leaves a place looking better than he found it. I am grateful to have been able to teach him for two courses.”
  • Joseph Sowell-Johnson – 12th grade – nominated by Mrs. Crane – She says of Joseph, “Fantastic attitude and learning mindset! Always positive and a pleasure to work with. Will go very far!”
  • Emanie Blizzard – 11th grade – nominated by Ms. Roberson – She says of Emanie, “Emanie's did amazing at our Spring Dance Concert with it being in her first semester in Advanced Honors. She handles herself with grace and pushes herself to do her best. She is also learned how to work the light and sound board this week to help out with the Chorus Concert.”
  • Elton Edwards – 10th grade – nominated by Mr. Jefferson – He says of Elton, “Amazing student who may fly under the radar just because of how chill and poised he can be! Never off-task and very attentive to his schoolwork! He's the kind of student that enjoys a good challenge and really cares about doing well academically! Enjoys reading in his down time which is great characteristic to have for any student. Hope he continues to do well in the future wherever it takes him!”

Congratulations to several of our outstanding juniors and seniors that have been accepted into the National BETA Club! This organization is known for honoring students who excel in academics, leadership, and service, and it’s fantastic to see our students recognized for their hard work in these areas.

Senior Parents Senior Parents

Hello Senior Parents,

Can you believe it's Spring semester of our children's last year in high school! Such an exciting time for everyone. I hope each of your students have had a great four years of learning at Ragsdale and that they will take with them many happy memories of their time spent there. There are lots of fun activities planned for the Seniors in the upcoming weeks and we can use your support. We are planning a picnic on May 30th at the school after one of the scheduled graduation practices. There will be food and drink, the Kona Ice truck, and some fun games for everyone to play. We are asking for donations to help fund the day. On the flyer below is a QR code that will take you to the Ragsdale PTSA website where you can make a donation for the picnic and a code for volunteering and providing giveaway gift cards!

Thank you for your support,

Linda Honeycutt
