The News
We have arrived at the 'ber months and I'm loving it! We couldn't ask for better weather, especially to start off football season. I hope everyone enjoyed their three-day weekend in celebration of Labor Day. I know I did. I took a four-hour nap on my back porch Monday afternoon. Overcast, no humidity, quiet. Perfect!
What started as a spur of the moment idea grew into a great day on Friday. We wanted to encourage our students to get more involved at school and after school and boost school spirit. That evolved into our first Get Involved Day at PCHS. Every club, team, extracurricular activity and some electives like Aviation set up tables in the gym to showcase their offerings. All of our students including the sixth graders at PCES and our future students from East Franklin JHS were invited to attend. We hope our students will see the fruits of their labor this year and years to come.
Our junior high volleyball team picked up big wins over Russellville and Haleyville this week. Our junior varsity team beat Shoals Christian. Our varsity is navigating a very tough schedule early on hoping the rewards will come as they face area opponents in this week and next. The varsity played their best match of their Thursday night against the Haleyville Lions losing 23-25; 21-25 and 17-25.
Our junior high football team beat Colbert Heights handily earlier in the week. Our varsity lost to a tough 4A Hamilton on Friday night.
Our cross country runners competed in their first meet on Saturday.
Our volleyball and football teams play their first area matchups this week- volleyball at Colbert Heights and football at Vinemont.
Have A Great Week!
