Notes from Our Nurse
By Ms. Amanda Peacock RN, BSN-Lindenwold Early Childhood Center Nurse
Happy Fall! With the weather changing and the school year in full motion forward I wanted to inform our Lindenwold families and students regarding the Flu and Flu vaccine for this season.
Flu can be more dangerous than the common cold for children. Children younger than 5 years old—especially those younger than 2—and children of any age with certain chronic health conditions, like asthma and diabetes, are at higher risk of developing potentially serious flu complications. Because these groups of children are at higher risk, it is especially important that they get a seasonal flu vaccine to help prevent flu, and to reduce their risk of serious health conditions. It's important to vaccinate everyone 6 months and older against flu each year to help protect those most at risk. Parents can help children fight flu by getting themselves and their children vaccinated against flu each year.
Per the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and prevention) guidelines for the Seasonal Flu: The current seasonal influenza vaccine is required every year for those children 6 months through 59 months of age. Children who have not received the flu vaccine by December 31 must be excluded (not allowed to attend preschool/school) for the duration of influenza season (through March 31), until they receive at least one dose of the influenza vaccine or until they turn 60 months of age. Children entering preschool after December 31, must provide documentation of receiving the current seasonal flu vaccine. Children entering preschool after March 31 are not required to receive the flu vaccine; however, flu season may extend until May and therefore getting a flu vaccine even late in the season is still protective.
Lindenwold’s Early Childhood Center requires all children 6 months through 59 months of age to receive the flu vaccine by December 31st 2025 to prevent exclusion from school.

Parking Lot Dismissal Changes
In order to ensure the safety of our students at dismissal, we are changing where cars may park at dismissal time. See the graphics below for details. Thank you in advance for your help.
Our First Parent/Teacher Organization Meeting
We are pleased to announce the formation of a Lindenwold ECC Parent Teacher Organization, with the name of the organization to be determined. The Parent-Teacher Organization will serve as a link between parents, teachers, and school administration, working collaboratively to support and enrich the educational environment of our Preschool through 1st-grade students.
Purpose and Activities of the Parent-Teacher Organization
The PTA will focus on several key areas to benefit our children and school community:
Fostering Communication: Enhancing the partnership between parents and school staff to ensure open and transparent communication. The Parent-Teacher organization will make sure the community's voice is heard and acted upon.
Organizing Events: Planning and hosting family-friendly events such as book fairs, holiday celebrations, and educational workshops to foster a sense of community and promote learning.
Supporting Classrooms: Assisting teachers with classroom resources and volunteer support to enhance the learning environment.
Teacher and Educational Services Professional of the Year
Do you know a classroom teacher or educational services professional at Lindenwold Preschool who is dedicated, inspiring, and making a difference? If so, please take the time to recommend this person for the Governor’s Educator of the Year Program by completing the nomination form below and either emailing it to Mr. Patterson (jpatterson@lindenwold.k12.nj.us) and Ms. Martin (mmartin@lindenwold.k12.nj.us) or dropping off a hard copy (in a sealed envelope) to the Lindenwold Preschool Main Office.
