School Ministry Team Candidate | Nathan Handberry
We are pleased to announce Mr. Nathan Handberry as a candidate for our School Ministry Team (SMT). Functioning similarly to a traditional school board, the SMT provides vital leadership and oversight for our school (ELC through 8th Grade). The team’s core responsibilities include spiritual oversight, financial accountability, strategic guidance and policy governance.
Our current SMT members are Dr. Barnard, Dr. Coggin, Mr. Keiven Cosgriff, Mrs. Becky Newquist, Mr. Chris Hanson, and Mr. Jason Koester. We are deeply grateful for their ongoing dedication to our school community.
30-Day Comment Period - ends November 22, 2026
As part of our standard process, every candidate is presented to the school community for a 30-day comment period. We value your feedback and input. If you have any comments regarding Mr. Handberry's candidacy, please reach out directly to smt@sjdenver.org.
You can read more about Mr. Handberry's background and connection to our school community in his biography below.
Nathan Handberry and his family have been part of the St. John’s community since 2018. Their three children have grown up at St. John’s and are currently in 8th, 6th, and 2nd grade.
Nathan is the Director of Product Development at Pereview Software, where he leads teams, guides product strategy, and oversees policy and governance as part of the company’s data security efforts. Outside of work, he enjoys running, spending time outdoors, and cheering on his children in their extracurricular activities. He is actively involved in his church, Fellowship Denver.
Nathan values the role St. John’s plays in nurturing students academically, personally, and spiritually. He is grateful for the strong community of families and staff and welcomes the opportunity to serve the school and support its mission of providing a Christ-centered education where students are encouraged to grow in their faith and fulfill their God-given potential.
Chapel Offering | Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Drive
For the next month, students are invited to participate in Operation Christmas Child, a global ministry of Samaritan’s Purse that delivers shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items to children in need, along with the opportunity to hear about Jesus.
Shoeboxes are available near the school office and in the community room, or you may use one from home. Click here for packing instructions and gift ideas.
Please return filled shoeboxes to the school office or community room by Friday, November 20. You can also pack a shoebox online here.
Thank you for helping share God’s love with children around the world!
