Caverly Preschool

Hi Caverly Families!

For the past two weeks we have been learning all about community helpers and transportation! The Caverly Fire Station has been a popular place for students to learn through pretend play. We have also been enjoying our sensory center, which has been filled with corn, boulder letters, construction vehicles, shapes, as well as all different types of transportation vehicles! In our science center students have been learning all about their bodies and teeth! We have read a lot of literature to help us understand the roles of a dentist, doctor, firefighter, and police officer, as well as many other community helpers. Officer Soulia from the Pittsford Police Department came to visit our students today and told them all about how he helps to keep our community safe. We are looking forward to exploring a firetruck next Tuesday with our younger learners!

Next week we will continue learning about community helpers and transportation. We will also be focusing on thankfulness and discuss what we are thankful for! This type of learning will promote a sense of gratitude in our classroom and will help students to have an increased awareness and understanding of the needs and feelings of others.

We are very grateful for our supportive community here in Pittsford. Thank you to the Lothrop PTO for generously purchasing an outdoor kitchen for our students to enjoy! It has been such a great addition to our outdoor play space and students have been creatively concocting many, many different types of stews, cakes, and other yummy dishes!

It was so nice to connect with many of you last night at conferences, I look forward to connecting with others on Tuesday the 18th at our second night of conferences at Lothrop!

*On November 21st we will be having cheesy breadsticks for lunch instead of waffles.
