Nesbit Vision: We pursue excellence in everything we do.

Nesbit Mission: To Educate, Equip, and Empower students, parents, ourselves and the community.

A Message from the Principal

Dear Nesbit Families and Community,

Happy fall! As we roll into October, I want to take a moment to share one of our absolute biggest priorities at Nesbit this year: school attendance.

Showing up every single day gives our students the foundation they need to stay on track, build strong connections, and reach their full learning potential. To make showing up even sweeter, we have some special incentives lined up this year including Ice Cream with Ms. Miller! 🍦

On Thursday, October 8th, I get to host our very first celebration with all the amazing students who earned perfect attendance for the 1st nine weeks of school. If your child didn’t hit perfect attendance this time around, don't worry! Students will have four opportunities throughout the school year to celebrate with me, so keep up the great momentum and help us get them to school every single day.

Your Proud Principal

Hispanic Heritage Spirit Week! Hispanic Heritage Spirit Week!

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Spirit Week

This week is also one of our favorite traditions of the year: Hispanic Heritage Spirit Week!

Our week will culminate in our Parade of Nations on Friday, October 9th, from 9:15 AM – 10:15 AM in the front parking lot of Nesbit. We warmly invite our families and community members to stop by, watch, and cheer as our students and staff show off the rich cultures and heritage that make our Nesbit community so special.

Families: Please make sure to send your students to school on Friday dressed in traditional native clothing, flag shirts, soccer jerseys, or colors that represent their heritage!

Thank you for your ongoing partnership, support, and dedication to our students' success. Let’s make it a fantastic event!

GCPS Bus Driver Appreciation Day GCPS Bus Driver Appreciation Day

On Monday, October 19th, Gwinnett County Public Schools celebrates Bus Driver Appreciation Day!

Our bus drivers are the very first Nesbit faces our students see in the morning and the last ones to wish them a great afternoon. Day in and day out, rain or shine, they work tirelessly to ensure our children travel to and from school safely.

We encourage our families and students to take a moment to show our driver team how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication. A handwritten thank-you note, a colorful drawing from your student, or a simple, warm "Thank you for keeping me safe!" as they step onto the bus goes a long way in making their day special.

Thank you for helping us honor the team that keeps Nesbit moving!
