Dear Families and Caregivers,
We are starting off October with some positive activities and learning here at the Winthrop School. Students are engaged, working hard, and making wonderful progress. We are now using our dedicated student leaders to help with a variety of programs here in our school, and their support has been invaluable.
We continue to work to support all of our students and families as you navigate the school year. Please reach out with any questions or concerns—the administration team is here to help and support as needed. Also, reach out directly to your child's teacher with any specific questions you need answered.
Reinforcing Our School Values: Respect, Responsibility, and Safety
We are thrilled to report that our focus on our core Winthrop School Values—Respect, Responsibility, and Safety is yielding wonderful results. Staff has been actively reviewing these essential values with students, and we are seeing their positive impact daily. We are observing increasingly positive behaviors and powerful examples of empathy towards others displayed by our students throughout the school.
Our weekly message this week centers on the theme of kindness, and we have seen a beautiful, first-hand demonstration of its ripple effects throughout the building. We encourage all families to continue these conversations about the power of kindness at home.
Safety and Protocols
This week, our students received our safety and emergency protocol lessons from our School Resource Officer, Joe Perna. Staff will be receiving this critical information on Thursday, October 9th, at our staff meeting. The administration has been circling into the different classrooms to listen and support as needed. We are dedicated to ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment for everyone.
