Blazer Bulletin for Aug 28 - Sept 1

Dear Trail Blazer Community
Hello Blazer Nation,
I hope that everyone has had a restful weekend. Here on the Trail, we are looking forward to the cooler temperatures this week. Please take some time and read through the newsletter to stay updated on all things LT and FISD.
Flu Clinic
LTHS will be hosting a Flu Clinic on Wednesday September 20, from 3:45-6:00pm in the LTHS library. All participants must register online. Have your consent form filled out, bring photocopies of ID and insurance card and arrive just prior to your scheduled time. Electronic copies of cards will not be accepted. Most insurance plans will be accepted. For adults without accepted plans flu shot cost is $26. Children 18 & and under who do not have insurance and qualify for Texas Vaccines for Children will cost $10 per flu vaccination.
Frisco ISD offers flu vaccines to all students and families. Here is a list of all the upcoming flu clinics. Click here to register.
Absences
To report an absence, go to the LT Homepage and click on the Report an Absence button in the top right. Please remember to report your student's absence even if you sign them out at the front office.
All absences, excused and unexcused, count toward the state’s compulsory attendance law. When a student's attendance rate drops below 90%, the student may earn credit for the class or a final grade by completing a plan approved by the principal - as long as their attendance rate remains above 75%. Students below 75% are not eligible for the principal plan. All absences can easily be submitted in the form at the top of our campus website. Learn more about the attendance policy.
COVID-19 Absences
For the 2023-24 school year, students with a positive COVID test will receive up to five excused absences per occurrence. Students quarantined without a positive COVID test may be excused with a parent note for each day absent. These parent notes will count toward the eight parent notes allowed by Frisco ISD. All absences will be considered when working through 90% attendance for credit and should be submitted in the form at the top of our campus website.
New Student Code of Conduct Update
Please read this article & watch this video from the District to stay up to date on the updated disciplinary consequences that will be assigned this year. This is a significant change in the state law that might affect your child, and we believe collaboration and awareness are essential during this transition. New consequences go into effect September 1.
What can you do as a parent?
As parents, you play a crucial role in helping your child understand the seriousness of this change. We know that vapes are easily accessible to minors, and they may obtain them from their peers or online. Discussing the potential consequences of possessing or using a vape on school grounds with your child would be beneficial.
Buses Update
Students: Know which bus number is yours by searching your address. Click here for Bus Finder Link, and arrive at the bus pick up area promptly after school.
** UPDATE: Buses are no longer required to wait on overflow buses from IHS and may leave campus promptly at 4:35pm.

Deliveries, Drop Offs & Checking out Students
Lebanon Trail staff cannot accept any items dropped off for students. This Includes:
School Supplies, Technology (computer, phone, etc), Clothing Items, Extracurricular Items, Food of Any Kind, and Schoolwork
Students are not permitted to exit the building for pickups of any kind. This Includes:
No deliveries such as parent food drop off, UberEats, or DoorDash will be accepted.
All visitors will need to utilize the door- bell to check students out . Parents will use the Check Out Form when checking a student out at the door.
We understand that these changes may be an inconvenience for some but the safety of our staff and students is our top priority, and we are very appreciative of your support and cooperation.
Student Parking & Parking Permits
Student parking lots are on the south side, and northeast side of the building (outside the band hall and by the football field).
Students who commute during the day to Collin or to the CTE will be required to enter the building through the front entrance and show their ID utilizing the front door bell system. All student drivers utilizing the school parking lots are required to purchase a parking sticker for the 2023-2024 school year.
Your student may purchase a parking sticker by completing the Parking Permit Form. Please submit payment by visiting onlineschoolfees.com and submitting the required documents. Your student may then pick up the parking sticker in the Front Office with the appropriate ID. Failure to purchase a permit may result in extra fines and/or loss of parking privileges. If students park in designated staff or visitor parking places they will be stickered and required to move their car during the school day.
Parking & Traffic Flow
The front entrance will be the only point of entry during drop off. This is a change from last year. Students dropped off at the north side of the building should walk around to the front entrance. Parents: we appreciate your help in keeping students safe by following the maps. Dropping off your student in the parking lot adds to the congestion entering and exiting our lot. Keep all students safe by following the map and using the drop-off lane
