MP2 Week 2
Greetings Buffalo Community!
Happy Week 2! We are looking forward to a week full of fun Homecoming Activities! Please read below for more updates.
Math STAAR Interim Assessment
Our Math STAAR Interim Assessment is scheduled for this Tuesday, October 20, for students in Grades 3-5. The assessment mimics the STAAR Assessment and allows us to capture data and review our students' current progress. We ask that all students be in attendance and parents avoid scheduling any appointments, so that our Buffaloes are focused on doing their very best.
Homecoming Week
We invite all of our Buffaloes to participate in this week's Homecoming Activities. We will have daily dress-up days to celebrate. Please review the flyer below. We also encourage all of our Buffalo Community to come out to the parade on Wednesday and the Homecoming Game on Friday at the SAC.
Campus Science Fair
Congratulations to all of our Classroom Science Fair Winners! They will now go on to compete in our Campus Science Fair this Thursday. Winners will move on to the District Science Fair. Way to go Einsteins!
Peter Piper Pizza Buffalo Night
Join us this Thursday, October 22, for our Anti-Bullying and Drug Free Night at Peter Piper Pizza. The event is scheduled from 11:00am-9:00pm. Take a night off of cooking and pick up some pizzas for supper. Don't forget to mention your child's teacher and grade level in order for the campus to get credit. We look forward to seeing all of our Buffaloes coming out to the event.
Early Voting Starts Monday, October 19
We encourage our Buffalo Community to take advantage of Early Voting and go out and vote. We are asking for your support for Prop A. Please review spending plans below. As a reminder, students will have early release on Tuesday, November 3.
Red Ribbon Week
We will be celebrating the life of Enrique "Kiki" Camarena and Drug Free Week next week. We will be sending out a dress-up activities flyer later this week to avoid confusion with the Homecoming Dress Up Activities.
Have a wonderful week!

Prop A
In 2025, Socorro ISD cut 20 elementary fine arts positions as part of its efforts to balance the district budget. Proposition A includes $2 million for elementary fine arts and could allow the district to begin adding those positions back to campuses. Learn more at www.sisd.net/PropA .
More than 5,300 Socorro ISD employees could see a salary increase through Proposition A. As one of the largest employers in the community, Socorro ISD has designated Prop A funding for teacher and staff compensation. See what Prop A would provide at www.sisd.net/PropA .
Weekly Attendance
Safety Corner
Safety is one of our top priorities at the campus. Please help us keep the entire school community by following our recommended safety tips.
- Tierra Delta is prioritized for our teachers to ensure that they can make it to the campus on time to greet our students.
- Cars exiting the West Parking Lot do not have the right of way. Drivers must yield to oncoming traffic on Tierra Mirage before turning.
- Left turns into the West Parking Lot from Tierra Mirage are prohibited.
- Whistles from the Crossing Guards mean that cars are coming to a stop. Pedestrians should always wait for directions from the Cross Guards for enhanced safety.
- Please do not block crosswalks.
- Students should never be dropped off along Tierra Mirage due to increased and very mobile traffic.
- When dropping off within any parking lot, please pull as far forward as possible to maximize cars within the drop off zones.
- If utilizing an electric scooter or bike, please walk it through crosswalks.
- Always use a turn signal to help Cross Guards identify which direction you intend to go.
- Always use a crosswalk to cross streets. Jaywalking is not only dangerous, but citations can be issued for failing to cross at the appropriate location.
- Please come to a complete stop at all stop signs.
- Our school neighbors have asked that we refrain from blocking their driveways. As a reminder, it is against Texas Law.
