Principal's Message
Dear Families,
I hope you're enjoying your weekend. I want to remind you that there will be no classes on Tuesday, November 7th, 2023.
I am excited to announce that the construction of the new building is about to begin. The general contractor has installed a temporary fence around the perimeter of the new building. Please be extra careful when you walk around the area during arrival or dismissal. Also, please avoid entering the fenced area, as this may be dangerous for you and your family.
Our Multicultural Committee has a survey that we would appreciate you filling out. It helps us better understand our diverse community.
Remember that November 8th is Reading Night, and the theme is 'A Night at the Movies.' It's an excellent opportunity for your children to enjoy some literature in a fun way.
Please check the flyer for this week's dress-up days so your child can participate.
From November 13th to 17th, we will collect donations for our Common Cents campaign. Your contribution is essential, and any amount will make a difference. You can find more information about it on the Counselor Corner section of the newsletter.
Additionally, your donation will allow your child to participate in Character Count Week dress-up days.
Lastly, some families have inquired about the early release on December 22nd. I will inform you about the dismissal time as soon as I receive the information. The Youth Conversion program will be operational on that day, offering extended hours.
Wishing you all a fantastic week ahead!"
Sincerely,
Dr. G

Happy Sunday, Biomedical Families! Thank you so much to those of you who completed my parent survey - I have received 12 responses, and your feedback is so helpful. Quick Note: the survey is anonymous, so if you asked me a specific question about your child, please shoot me a quick email so I can get back to you!
*If you haven’t already, please consider taking the survey so that your feedback will be incorporated into my program!*
Common Cents Campaign Fundraiser/Character Counts! Week:
This month, we are partnering with Common Cents Dallas to raise money for a Nonprofit selected by student leaders at Biomedical Prep! Common Cents is a student-driven educational program offered exclusively to Dallas ISD that empowers students to play an active role in raising money for their communities.
Our 2nd Grade teachers were asked to nominate six students who stood out to them as empathetic and compassionate leaders. Please congratulate this year’s Common Cents Student Leader team: Robert Cardoza, Emil Cohen, Aahana Kathania, Fromee Menegesha, Calliope Salvador, and Devin Steele!
These students have been working hard to brainstorm ways to help our community, research local nonprofit organizations, and plan a fundraising event for the whole school to participate in! They selected a great organization for us to support: GreenSpace Dallas. GreenSpace Dallas works to restore, develop, and promote accessible urban greenspaces along the Trinity River Corridor.

My name is Farra Kahalnik (mom of Emil Cohen, 2A) and I am the chair of the PTO's multicultural committee. Even if you don't have time to be on the committee but are willing to contribute input or help plan an event during the year, I would love to hear from you! Thank you in advance for filling out this short survey.

I would like to remind you to review the uniform policy and ensure that your child is wearing appropriate uniform and footwear. This is to ensure their safety as improper shoes can lead to injuries.
Homeroom teachers will begin contacting families regarding this topic to better understand individual needs.
Your cooperation in this matter is highly appreciated. please see the approved uniform policy here
Crocs are not allowed as part of Dallas ISD uniform policy.
As the weather gets cooler, we want to remind you to label all student layers. Please write your child's name on the tags of their jackets or sweaters. We want to make sure no clothing items get misplaced and can be returned to your child.
