Evergreen Families~

As we wrap up the last week of October, it’s hard to believe how quickly the month has flown by!

This week was especially full with our band and orchestra concerts, the start of volleyball and wrestling, and a fun spirit week. It was wonderful to see so many students participating and showing their school spirit. We hope these experiences help every student feel more connected to our school community.

Have a great weekend, and we look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday!

Dear Evergreen Families,

The holiday season can sometimes bring extra stress, especially when it comes to providing gifts for your children. We, your school counselors, want to remind you that the school district and community have resources available to help ensure every child experiences the joy of the holidays.

If your family is facing financial hardship and could use assistance with gifts this year, please reach out to us. Your request will be handled with confidentiality and care. We can connect you with programs and community partners offering support.

To inquire about assistance, please contact the school counselors:

6th and 7th grade: Nikki LaPlante 509-558-3711 or nlaplante@cvsd.org

8th grade: Reilly Sienko 509-558-3710 or rsienko@cvsd.org

Please contact the appropriate counselor by November 12th!

Wishing you a joyful and stress-free holiday season.

As an FYI – the SAFE Center is NOT a distribution site this year. The distribution sites will all be listed in the sign-up link on November 3rd.

The Leadership class kicked off the school year with a mini conference on October 9th at Pepperzak Middle School. Organized by the Association of Washington Student Leaders, we got the chance to collaborate with other Leadership programs from around the region as well as work on building teamwork and communication within our own class. It was an energetic event and we came away feeling confident of our plans for the school year.

On October 16th a group of Leadership students took a few hours to help at the local nonprofit, Teen and Kid Closet. This organization gives clothing to infants to 22 year olds who are in need as a result of housing or financial insecurity. We spent our time prepping new winter coats and (literally) hundreds of pairs of brand new shoes to go out on the floor for our community's youth in need. Students worked so quickly, efficiently, and joyfully, that the organizer said she would gladly have us back any time!

For your convenience, we have limited quantities and sizes of shirts & shorts available in the school office (Youth Large - Adult 2XL). Cost is $10 per item.

When we sell out in the office, uniforms will be available online only.

Important Online Order Information:

• After you place an online order, please print your receipt and have your student show it to their PE teacher so they aren't deducted points
• Uniforms will be delivered to the school -- PLEASE DO NOT pick up at the warehouse

Thank you!
