Blue Jay Briefings

A Message from the Superintendent
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As the first semester of the school year draws to a close, I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for your continued support and partnership. Your commitment to your child's education is invaluable, and it contributes significantly to the positive learning environment we work together to provide.
As we transition into the winter months, I would like to remind you of the importance of regular school attendance. Consistent attendance is crucial for academic success and personal growth. Please make every effort to ensure your child is present and on time for school each day.
Additionally, I encourage you to prepare for potential winter weather conditions. Please monitor local weather forecasts and be prepared to adjust your family's routine as necessary. If severe weather conditions arise, please refer to our district's website or local news outlets for updates on school closures or delays. Please make sure that your phone numbers are up to date in Infinite Campus to help us communicate efficiently.
Thank you again for your ongoing support. We want a great finish to first semester; we look forward to a productive and rewarding second semester and hope you have a wonderful Christmas season.
Proud to Be a Blue Jay,
Mike Henry
What if the weather outside becomes frightful?
As winter approaches, it’s important to be prepared for the possibility of early school dismissals due to inclement weather. Please take time now to determine transportation plans for your student(s) in the event of an early release.
Early Learning Center
The Early Learning Center is home to a special helper—Snakey, our friendly resident snake! Snakey loves teaming up with Miss Amy, our librarian, to make storytime and book checkout extra fun for our preschoolers.
Students are thrilled when Snakey joins them in the library, sparking curiosity and excitement about reading. With his calm and gentle presence, he helps create a warm and welcoming space for young learners to explore books.
Thank you, Snakey and Miss Amy, for making reading an adventure!
Hubble Elementary
Hubble students learned about the importance of voting and the many duties a president has while in office. Many wrote about what they would do if they were President of the United States.
Webster Elementary
This year, our second graders have embarked on an exciting journey of mastering new phonics skills! From building words to crafting stories, they’ve had countless opportunities to apply their growing knowledge as confident readers and creative writers.
Shook Elementary
Students in Mrs. Fishel's and Mr. Van Ness's 4th-grade classes are sharpening their multiplication skills with a friendly competition. Each day, both classes participate in three rounds of multiplication facts on 99Math. The class that completes the most problems earns the trophy. This week, both classes solved over 1,500 problems, but Mrs. Fishel's class claimed the trophy with an impressive 1,576 problems completed!

After three weeks of building machines that demonstrate Newton's Laws, the students inspired the 6th graders, who will design their own machines this spring. Great job fostering creativity and learning!
