Walnut Hills Elementary Weekly Newsletter 10/2/2026
A Message From Our Proud Principal 💗
Good evening, Families!
What an amazing week we have had at Walnut Hills! From celebrating our cultures and hearing our students’ stories to cheering on our kiddos at the Fun Run, there has been so much to celebrate!
We started the week by looking back on last Friday’s Multicultural Night, and what a special evening it was! Our school was filled with delicious food, beautiful cultural clothing, family traditions, stories, laughter, and so many wonderful conversations. It was such a joy to see our families come together to share a little piece of what makes each of our cultures and families special.
One of the highlights of the evening was “The Story of My Name.” Our students had the opportunity to share the stories they wrote about the origin and meaning of their names. It was so special to hear their stories and see the pride they had as they shared them with others. Every name has a story, and we loved giving our students a chance to celebrate theirs!
A heartfelt thank you to all of our families who came out, participated, brought food, shared traditions, dressed in cultural attire, and helped make the evening so memorable. Your participation made the night truly special, and we are so grateful for the wonderful community we have here at Walnut Hills.
October Count was on October 1st! Every student counts! Thank you, families, for helping make sure your children arrive at school on time, ready to learn, and prepared for a great day. Your support in making attendance a priority helps our students make the most of every learning opportunity.
We also had a very special visit from the Cherry Creek High School Spirit Bus! Our students were so excited to welcome the high school students and show off their school. One of the sweetest parts of the visit was seeing former Walnut Hills students return to their elementary school. It was wonderful to see how much they have grown and to see them becoming confident, kind, and outstanding high school students inspiring the next generation!
And, of course, we cannot forget our Fun Run! Our students had an absolute blast running, cheering, laughing, and encouraging one another. The energy and excitement throughout the event were contagious! A very special thank you to our amazing PTCO for coordinating such a fun event for our students. We are also incredibly grateful to all of our parent volunteers and teachers who helped make the Fun Run possible. Your time, energy, encouragement, and enthusiasm made such a difference. Without our PTCO, volunteers, teachers and wonderful donating families working together, this event would not have been nearly as fun or successful. We are so lucky to have such a supportive community behind our students!
The fundraiser is still open, so there is still time to participate and help us reach our fundraising goal! Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference and helps support our students and our school. Let’s see if we can reach that goal together!
What a week it has been and Fall break is just around the corner! Thank you, families, for continuing to show up for our students, celebrate their accomplishments, and make Walnut Hills such a special place to learn and grow. We are so grateful for each and every one of you.

Kindly,
Mrs. Williams

Animals at School
Please do not bring animals to school or on the school grounds during school hours, this includes arrival and dismissal times. Even the best behaved animals can get spooked or alarmed with the noise and commotion taking place at arrival and dismissal time. We have also found that many of our children have allergies and fears of animals.
A Friendly Reminder to Our Walnut Hills Families
As members of the Walnut Hills community, we kindly ask families to be respectful of our neighbors and their property. Please refrain from making U-turns in neighborhood driveways and avoid walking or parking on neighbors’ lawns, pavers, driveways, or other personal property. We also ask that families please do not pick flowers or plants from neighborhood properties.
Thank you for helping us be thoughtful and respectful neighbors and for being a wonderful part of the Walnut Hills community!
