All Upper School Families: You are invited to attend Financial Aid Night this Wednesday, September, 10th in the Art Studio at NCA from 6:30-8:00PM. This is a must-do for parents of seniors, but any family of a 7th grade student and up should consider attending. The more advanced planning you have for college, the better! College Foundation of North Carolina representative, Timeka Ruffin, will provide an overview of the entire process, what changes have been made to FAFSA, and answer any questions. Please mark your calendars for this time together.
Seniors & Families: Remember, Monday, September 8TH, is the due date for the materials clipped together (left-hand side of folder) from the Senior College Planning Night. Materials that are required to be returned are:
Signed High School Transcript and Senior Schedule of Classes—If there were any mistakes noted, please write these in with a red pen for review by Mr. Maslin and me.
The signature page of the college planning guide. Sign this indicating your family has reviewed the packet in its entirety and understand the application process.
The High School Transcript Request Form completed with the student’s name, graduation date, date of request, and a complete list of all colleges/universities on your application list. Include addresses and dates materials must be received by the schools to meet any application deadlines. Also note any special instructions. Sign at the bottom. Note: If you plan to go to the GCU trip, you must list Grand Canyon University of the release form and immediately complete your application to them.
Once I have these returned, I will begin uploading transcripts and all other supporting documents in Scoir for all student applications!
Please check application requirements. If teacher letters of recommendation are needed, ask teachers now! Remember, recommenders should send letters to me to be uploaded in Scoir.
Be sure the “APPLYING” column in Scoir is now correct.
Remember to add the Financial Aid Night to your calendars for Wednesday, September 10th at 6:30. Go ahead and create your FSA ID that we talked about in the meeting now. Remember to do the student one first, and then parents should make one as well.
9th, 10th, and 11th Grade Families: It’s time to sign up for our required PSAT day. You received an email on August 28th with the registration link. Please go ahead and sign up. Once you are registered, you will receive an email with payment instructions. Payments must be made by September 18, 2025. Please coordinate with other families to carpool to Hickory Grove on Oct. 24th for the test. Traffic can be heavy in the morning, so please plan accordingly. You will NOT need to return to school after the PSAT.
Thank you! Have a blessed week.

Middle and High School Chapel
We had a wonderful time at Family Chapel this past week. Thank you so much to everyone who was able to make it and support these students. The ladies did a phenomenal job leading us in worship, along with a classic game of Last One Standing. The sermon focused on going beyond the common sayings in the Christian life and focused on what they mean and how we can take those sayings beyond just saying them. In Beyond the Catchphrase: From Slogan to Savior, we focused on 1 Peter, where we are called to follow in Christ's steps as He leads by example, and also through His suffering on the cross, we too can die to sin and live in the righteousness we find in the only way back to the Father, through His Son. Next week, we dive back into week three of Theology 101!
