MTSS Lead Weekly Updates
Week of March 9, 2026
New MTSS Lead Huddles
This month we are splitting the New MTSS Lead Huddles by grade bands. Our topic is Spring Universal Screening and we will offer two K-8 sessions and two 9-12 sessions. Links to join are found below. Recordings will be available in the On Target for Success SharePoint on Friday, March 13th.
Grade 3 ONLY aimswebPlus Benchmark Training
Additional Learning Available This week
We have been able to add two additional dates virtually if you would like to attend the Grade 3 aimswebPlus Benchmark Training. You can register in PLZ using course #48613 or find the link below and join that way. MTSS Leads please ensure that any support staff who has not participated has completed this training or the asynchronous option previously shared.
Grade 3 students will complete this Benchmark according to their school schedule March 30-April 10 which will allow them a possible pathway to promotion if needed provided they score at the 50th percentile on the composite..
High School Early Warning System
Early Warning System
The high school spring universal screening window is March 30-April 10 where students flagged at risk on the EWS are screened in the identified area(s).
iReady Lockdown Browser
Please ensure that the iReady Lockdown Browser is downloaded to the student profile from the MSCS Company Portal in advance of the spring screening. If the iReady Lockdown Browser is not installed, students will receive error messages and will not be able to complete the Diagnostic. This is not a valid reason to not screen students. The step sheet is available in the iReady folder in the On Target for Success SharePoint.
Reading Horizons
Reading Horizons Elevate Decodable Passages Book
During printing of the Reading Horizons Elevate Decodable Passages book that came with your kit, some passages were not included. You can access all passages digitally or you can reference the passages from the document found in the Reading Horizons folder in the On Target for Success SharePoint.
Reading Horizons Discovery and Elevate PLCs
Thank you to Germantown Elementary for hosting the Reading Horizons Discovery and Elevate Professional Learning Communities last week after school. Our sessions were well attended and engaging as we worked together to refine practice and clarify understanding of the two different programs which is exactly what they were intended to do. While we could not record all of the sessions, we want to thank our MSCS Communications team who recorded the Discovery K-3 Model Lesson on Tuesday. A link to that recording is available in the Reading Horizons folder in the On Target for Success SharePoint as a reference to you. We are making plans with Shatamara Davis to continue the PLC opportunities due to the positive responses from participants so stay tuned for additional information.

ILP-D
Should I exit an ILP-D when a student is chronically absent?
This question has been asked several times from schools and I have spoken with TDOE for guidance on how best to approach this.
- The parent signed permission to support their child with this plan. Do not exit the ILPD unless the parent removes permission or if the student has met the exit criteria for two consecutive windows.
- Please document concerns on the CSRS and/or data team meeting minutes related to chronic absenteeism in the school data team for the student.
- Work with the MSCS Attendance Liaison to ensure that the parent has been contacted and supported with attendance.
- Continue to provide dyslexia specific intervention when the student is present.
