MTSS Lead Weekly Updates
Week of January 20, 2026
Winter Universal Screener ENDS FRIDAY, 1/23/2026
Students in grades K-6 should complete the following:
- iReady Reading Diagnostic
- iReady Math Diagnostic
- iReady Literacy Tasks for grade level
- written expression (remember to enter scores in PowerApps-link found under quick links on On Target for Success homepage)
- screening for characteristics of dyslexia as outlined (Decision Making Crosswalk)
All students in grades 7-8 should complete the iReady Diagnostic for ELA and Math. Those enrolled in a 9-12 intervention course should complete the iReady Diagnostic for ELA or Math as aligned to the enrolled course. This ensures an updated personalized instruction path and allows schools to check progress towards typical and stretch growth.
EMAIL RTI2@SCSK12.ORG with questions.
Written Expression Scores
Please ensure that you have entered all Written Expression Screening scores into the WEUS PowerApp. The link is available on the home page of the On Target for Success SharePoint. Email RTI2@scsk12.org with any questions or access issues.
Characteristics of Dyslexia Screening Decision Making Crosswalk
Please remember to upload a scanned copy of the Characteristics of Dyslexia Screening Decision Making Crosswalk or your Excel Sheet with the data to your school folder following this month's data team meeting where the information was discussed. Remember to apply the DYS coding in PowerSchool accordingly and reference the 1/12/26 MTSS Lead Updates for additional information if needed.
iReady Student Trackers
Student trackers are great ways to help students move closer to and beyond their goals. To access these links, log into your iReady account and then click on the links. Questions can be sent to RTI2@scsk12.org.
Leverage class and student level resources to have conversations about
mid-year diagnostic results and/or personalized instruction before and after
the mid-year diagnostic.

Celebrating Best Practices
This week RTI2A Advisor Latosha Wiseman and I visited Highland Oaks Middle School where we observed excellent use of student trackers to create student ownership in their learning during intervention. Part of the whiteboard has student magnets as they move through the months so they know how far from the goal they are. The pictures below belong to Ms. Springfield's classroom.
Organization System
Organization of student learning binders with goals and student managed trackers make a difference in this classroom for students.
Daily Log
Student daily log.
Fluency Practice Over Time
Student fluency practice words per minute tracker.
Reminders
- Don't forget to update your TNPulse MTSS Plans each month following the data team meeting, but no later than the 30th of each month. They must remain aligned with the Pearson aimswebPlus measure being used for progress monitoring.
- Don't forget to renew or exit current ILPDs with red stop signs. This is critical in making sure that we do not have "danglers" in TNPulse related to the ILPDs. There will be office hours to support questions regarding ILPDs the week of January 26th.
- New MTSS Lead January Monthly Huddle Options were shared in the 1/12/2026 MTSS Lead Updates. Please join one if you are a lead in year 0-3.
