The Weekly Update #1

This is our new weekly bulletin. It will usually come out on a Friday and have reminders of what is coming up the following week. This will not replace our usual newsletters full of pictures ,work and useful links but these will now be monthly. The long-term diary dates will continue to be included in the newsletter and the weekly bulletin as we do try to give dates as far in advance as possible. If there is anything you think it would be useful to see in the weekly bulletin please let me know.

• School Council elections in each class. If your child wishes to stand for election they should prepare a brief speech to say why they would be good in this role (Reception to Y6).
• Hull FC working with Pearls.

• 15:30 - 17:00 Parent Welcome Night in each class. Opportunity to meet your child's teaching team. If you cannot attend the presentation do not worry as that and any documents will be uploaded to your child's class page on the website.

• 13:30 C.Storey from the church coming to speak to KS1 and KS2.

• Sapphires and Diamonds parents please ensure you have given permission for the school trip coming up (Hull 17th September) via Arbor.
• Please ensure PE kit is always in school all week.
• New after-school provision is now bookable on Arbor.
• Breakfast club can be booked on Arbor.
• Please inform us of nursery hours required for the following week by no later than Thursday.
• Clubs can now be booked via Arbor and begin on Monday 8th September.

If your child is part of our phonics programme this year (includes all Pearls and Rubies as well as some of Diamonds class) they will have brought home a sharing book and letter explaining our reading books. Below is an electronic copy just for your ease.

Each half-term the children can earn reading rewards for reading at home or in our free reading school clubs. In school reading clubs are worth 3 reads each and can be booked via Arbor with the other clubs. There is a reading club on a Wednesday lunchtime too for those who cannot stay after school.

Reading reward levels for this half-term:

Bronze - 21 reads

Silver - 28 reads

Gold - 42 reads

We would love it if reads could be uploaded to Seesaw or Tapestry ideally as a video so we can hear your reading and get immersed in the book too. If you have any difficulties with this please see a member of your child's teaching team.

• Teddy Bears Picnic in Little Pearls for the children - keep an eye out for pictures on our social media (no need to bring a teddy we have lots to choose from)
