Dear Adventure Families,

As we head into our final week of school for 2025, and in case I don't see you at an event next week, I want to take a moment to extend my warmest wishes to all of our families. This is our last newsletter until January 9, 2026, and I hope the weeks ahead bring you rest, joy, and meaningful time with the people you love. Whether you’ll be traveling or staying close to home, I wish you safe journeys, peaceful days, and a very happy New Year.

Before we break, we have an especially festive week planned for our Marmots. Students will take part in our Marmot Holiday Monopoly, where homeroom classes work together to earn game pieces and unlock fun prizes. Throughout the week, students can also look forward to special treats and games that bring a little extra cheer to our days together. Tuesday's K–4 music concert will showcase the talent and hard work of our youngest musicians, and VIVA—our incredible parent volunteer group—is sponsoring winter movie celebrations that students are sure to love. We’ll also gather for our Marmot of the Month assembly on Friday to recognize students who exemplify our values, and classrooms will round out the week with their own celebrations.

Thank you for your partnership, your support, and the many ways you contribute to our community. I’m grateful for all you do to make our school a place where students are included, cared for, and able to thrive. Wishing each of you a wonderful holiday season—happy, safe, and restful—and I look forward to welcoming everyone back in January.

¡Vamos marmotas!

Sarah

To prepare for the upcoming school year, all Mapleton families need to log onto the Infinite Campus Parent Portal and complete the Annual Update.

The Annual Update is how current families confirm important student information, like phone numbers, email addresses, and emergency contacts. The Annual Update is also how current families enroll a new student, such as a sibling, or select a new school for the upcoming year, if needed.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Who needs to select a new school for the 2026-27 school year?

Current families who need to use the Annual Update process to select a new Mapleton school for the 2026-27 school year include:

All preschool students moving on to kindergarten. Preschool students are not automatically enrolled in kindergarten if it is offered at their current school.
Adventure 6th grade students

Families choosing a new school for the 2026–27 school year will receive their school placement notifications at the end of February.

When does the Annual Update open?

The Annual Update is open! Families are encouraged to complete the Annual update by Friday, Feb. 13.

How do families complete the Annual Update?

The Annual Update is located in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Step-by-step instructions and a detailed video are available on the Mapleton website.

If you need help accessing the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, please contact the main office of your child's school.

Each year, students in English learner programs take the ACCESS for ELLs language proficiency test. This assessment measures students’ academic English language proficiency in our school and across the state.

Beginning this school year, students in the Dual Language program who are learning Spanish in Kindergarten through Third Grade will also participate in the LAS Links language proficiency test in Spanish. This assessment measures students’ academic Spanish language proficiency both in our school and statewide.

Our testing window will run from January 12 through January 30. Testing will begin promptly at 8:20 a.m., so we kindly encourage all students to arrive at school on time to ensure a smooth and successful testing experience.

We are excited to see the incredible growth our students have made in their second language and look forward to celebrating their progress.

To learn more about ACCESS check out this Parent-Handout (English) and Parent-Handout (Spanish).
To learn more about LAS Links check out the website.

The Adventure front office has a limited supply of Marmot t-shirts for sale for $13. If the shipping costs deterred you from ordering, we negotiated a deal with the vendor to sell them on-site. When you come by school next week for one of the events, be sure to get yours! Cash, checks, or cards accepted!
