Wildcat PRIDE - October Celebration
The October Wildcat PRIDE Celebration was held on Friday, October 30th at 8:00 a.m. During the celebration, students were recognized by their teachers for exemplifying what it means to be a Wildcat by living out our five PRIDE traits: Positivity, Respect, Integrity, Determination, and Empathy.
Our next celebration will take place on Tuesday, November 24th at 8:00 a.m. in the auxiliary gym. If your student is selected, their classroom teacher will reach out to notify you.
We are proud of our Wildcats and look forward to honoring more students who demonstrate PRIDE every day!
Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences
Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences were a tremendous success, with an outstanding 96.7% attendance rate! Thank you to our families and staff for taking the time to connect, collaborate, and support our students. Your involvement and dedication play an important role in helping our students succeed!
Halloween Parade
Thank you to everyone who was able to come out and take part in the Halloween parade.
2026 NAESP Region 1 Leadership Conference
Eight students from grades 4–6 proudly represented Cedar Bluffs Public Schools at the 2026 Nebraska Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) Region 1 Student Leadership Conference at York College. Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to connect and collaborate with peers from 19 school districts across southeast Nebraska while participating in activities designed to strengthen their leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
We are proud of these students for representing Cedar Bluffs and taking advantage of this opportunity to grow as young leaders!
Cedar Bluffs Elementary Thanksgiving Food Drive
Cedar Bluffs Elementary School’s annual Thanksgiving Food Drive will take place November 16–20! Be on the lookout for additional information coming home with your child as we get closer to the event.
Communicating After-School Plan Changes
If your child’s after-school plans change during the school day, please be sure to message both your child’s classroom teacher and the elementary office. This helps ensure that everyone involved in dismissal is aware of the change and that your child gets to the correct location safely. Whenever possible, please communicate changes as early in the day as you can, as messages sent near dismissal time may be difficult for staff to see and communicate before students leave. Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe, organized, and efficient!
Attendance
Regular school attendance is essential for student success. Being present each day helps students stay on track academically, build positive relationships, and develop consistent learning habits.
To support student success and comply with Nebraska attendance requirements, families will receive an attendance letter after 5 unexcused absences. An unexcused absence is any absence without a doctor’s note or one that is not the result of the school sending a student home due to a fever or vomiting.
After 10 unexcused absences, an additional attendance letter will be sent home. A meeting with the student’s parents/guardians, teachers, and administration will also be scheduled to discuss attendance concerns and develop a plan to improve attendance. At that time, Saunders County ARRIVE will also be contacted.
After 15 unexcused absences, another attendance letter will be sent, and a meeting will be scheduled with the ARRIVE Coordinator to provide additional support and address continued attendance concerns.
After 20 unexcused absences, another attendance letter will be sent, and the county attorney in the family’s county of residence will be contacted.
We understand that circumstances may arise that impact a student’s ability to attend school regularly. Our goal throughout this process is to partner with families, identify barriers to attendance, and provide support whenever possible. If your family is experiencing challenges that are affecting your child’s attendance, please reach out to the school so we can work together to help your student be successful.
