Mrs. Cara Smith
Literacy Intervention
Hello! My name is Cara Smith, and I am one of the literacy specialists at Sage Canyon. This is my 11th year working at SGCE, 21st year working for Douglas County School District, and my 25th year of teaching. I typically work with kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students who need extra help in reading and writing.
On a personal note, I was born and raised in Maryland before moving to Colorado in 2006. I live in Castle Rock with my husband and three children. My twin daughters, Emma and Abby are 2023 graduates of Douglas County High School. My son Jack also attends DC and is currently a senior.
In my free time, I enjoy watching my daughter Emma play college soccer in Michigan, rooting for my son’s club baseball team, and visiting my daughter Abby at University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
