Principal's Message
Dear KCHS Families,
As we begin the month of September, I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to all the parents who attended our Back to School Night. It was wonderful to see such a strong turnout, and we are truly grateful to see more families engaging and partnering with us in their students’ success.
We also want to recognize and thank our returning School Site Council parents. Your continued time, dedication, and commitment to supporting our school community is deeply appreciated.
We have several important dates and events coming up this month:
September 3 – Our first Pep Rally of the year, followed by the home football game: The Little Big Game vs. Gonzales.
September 4 – 1st Quarter Progress Report grades are due.
September 5 & September 26 – Saturday School from 7:50 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the KCHS cafeteria for any student needing to clear lates, tardies, or unexcused absences.
September 7 – No school in observance of Labor Day.
September 8 – Tutoring begins in the KCHS Library from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. All students are welcome and encouraged to take advantage of extra help in any class they may be struggling with. Tutoring will be offered every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday throughout the school year.
September 21 – Our first School Site Council meeting at 3:15 p.m. in Room 121. We also want to thank the two new parents who signed up to serve on our 2026–2027 School Site Council. We appreciate your willingness to support our school and contribute to this important committee.
Thank you again for your continued involvement, support, and partnership. We look forward to a positive and productive month ahead.
Warm regards,
Michael Gray

🎓 AP Capstone Diploma Recognition 2025 - 2026
We are excited to share that 11 students from King City High School earned the AP Capstone Diploma™ based on the scores released from the 2026 AP® Exam administration. This is a prestigious academic honor awarded to students who complete both AP Seminar and AP Research with qualifying scores, along with four additional AP Exams. This year, approximately 34,100 students worldwide earned this distinction — and we are proud to have our Mustangs among them.
Congratulations to our AP Capstone Diploma recipients: Alejandra Acero, Aime Alvarez, Jose Calihua, Kimberly Gonzalez, Lizbeth Hernandez, Avery Muñoz, and Roselin Perez. We also want to recognize our four graduates who earned the diploma but are not pictured: Olivia Barrera, Elizabeth Cervantes, Zoe Reyes, and Maria Sario.
This accomplishment reflects their dedication, resilience, and commitment to academic excellence. Way to go, Mustangs! 💙🐎
Game Day Attendance Rules 🏈
Saturday School Information
Saturday School is available for any student who needs to clear lates, tardies, or unexcused absences. Attending helps students stay on track with their attendance record and avoid truancy problems.
In addition, some students may be assigned to attend Saturday School due to behavior concerns. If your student is assigned, they will be notified in advance and expected to attend on the scheduled date.
Something new this year: We now have transportation available for Saturday School. Students who need transportation will be required to sign up using the link provided to them prior to each Saturday School date. This helps us determine whether a bus or van is needed for that specific day. Please note that not all routes are available every Saturday, so families should be sure to check the Saturday School schedule for the route assigned on each date.
Saturday School provides a structured environment for students to complete schoolwork, improve attendance, and stay focused on their academic progress.

Parents and guardians can also refer students to the Wellness Center if they feel their student may benefit from academic or social-emotional support. We’re here to help students feel supported, connected, and successful at school.
Thank you for partnering with us to support our students’ mental health and overall well-being!
