NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS MONDAY 3/16 (TEACHER PLANNING DAY)

Morning Traffic & On-Time Arrival: What Families Need to Know Morning Traffic & On-Time Arrival: What Families Need to Know

User uploaded image
zoom_out_map

As our community continues to grow, we know that morning and afternoon traffic can feel extra challenging—especially near our school campuses. Recently, the county traffic engineering team conducted a full review of the traffic light timing surrounding all three nearby schools. Adjustments were made to optimize flow during the busiest times of day, including significant increases to the northbound left‑turn signal.

However, because school traffic and commuter traffic peak at the exact same time—and because the current roadway is limited to two lanes—the intersection becomes oversaturated during arrival and dismissal. At this point, the signals are operating at their highest efficiency, and no further adjustments or structural changes to our car loop are possible.

What does this mean for families?
To ensure students arrive on time and avoid being marked tardy, parents and guardians who drive their children to school will need to plan to leave home a bit earlier than usual. Even a small shift in departure time can make a big difference in navigating the heavier morning traffic safely and smoothly.

We appreciate your partnership and patience as we work together to keep our students safe and on time. Thank you for being an essential part of our school community! Let’s continue to support one another and model calm, prepared starts to each school day.

🚗 Student Drop-Off & Parking Reminder 🚗 Student Drop-Off & Parking Reminder

For the safety of all students and to ensure smooth traffic flow on campus, we want to remind families that the front car loop is the only location for student drop-off and pick-up. Please do not use the student parking lot for drop-offs at any time.

The student parking lot is restricted to:

  • Student drivers with a valid parking pass, or
  • Students with an approved learner’s permit application who are completing a driver’s swap

All other vehicles must use the front car loop.

For complete details about student parking procedures, requirements, and permits, please visit our school website at https://cchs.pasco.k12.fl.us/student-parking/.
