Noble Family Newsletter
March 4, 2026
At Noble Elementary, we believe that every student has the right to learn and grow in a safe and respectful environment. We also believe that every student has the power to make positive choices, learn from mistakes, and become stronger leaders in our school community. Noble Elementary empowers all students for college and career readiness through AVID’s schoolwide focus on WICOR, student success skills, and a growth mindset.
This month at Noble, we proudly celebrate Women’s History Month by honoring the achievements, leadership, and lasting impact of women throughout history and in our own community. We will highlight trailblazers who have shaped our world through courage, innovation, and resilience, while also uplifting the voices of the women and girls within our school. Through classroom activities, spotlights, and meaningful conversations, students will learn about the powerful contributions women have made across all fields.
Agape Love
Noble Families,
Former Notre Dame Head Coach Lou Holtz once said, “The times when people need love and understanding the most is often when they deserve it the least.”
Earlier this year, I shared with our staff the importance of agape love, unconditional love given freely, without expectation. As we move from winter into spring and approach our OST season, this message feels especially important to share with our families as well. This time of year can bring added pressure for students. They are working hard, staying focused, and preparing to show what they know. Success during this stretch requires grit, energy, and perseverance, and it also requires patience, encouragement, and understanding from the adults who surround them.
There may be moments when students seem tired, frustrated, or not at their best. Those are often the moments when they need our support the most. Together, as a school and family community, we can continue to surround our children with encouragement, high expectations, and unconditional care. Thank you for your partnership and for the many ways you show up for your children each day. When we lead with love and work together, our students thrive.
Mr. Walker, M.Ed.
Principal
From the Assistant Principal's Desk
Noble Families,
As we are in Week 27, we want to take a moment to reflect on a strong, yet challenging, Week 26. Our students continue to work hard and demonstrate the Noble Big 4 in many ways. Last week alone, students earned hundreds of Dojo points for positive behavior, participating in 2x Tuesday, and arriving at school on time. We are proud of the effort so many of our students are making each day.
At the same time, we continue to reinforce clear expectations to ensure a safe and focused learning environment. When behavior concerns arise, we work closely with students and families to address them promptly and productively. Our goal is always growth, reflection, and helping students make positive choices moving forward.
As we approach Spring Break, we encourage families to continue reinforcing our shared expectations at home , being respectful, responsible, ready to learn, and safe. Strong partnerships between school and home make a meaningful difference in student success. Attendance remains a priority. Our average daily attendance is currently 92.7%, showing strong improvement from January to February. Chronic absenteeism has slightly decreased to 22%, which means we need everyone’s support in ensuring students attend school daily unless they are truly ill. Every day of learning matters, especially as we continue through this important stretch of the school year.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for supporting your child’s academic and behavioral growth. Together, we will finish this school year strong!
Ms. Barrett

Student Retention Discussions
At Noble, we closely monitor student progress through our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). MTSS is a structured process in which teachers and support staff regularly review data related to academics, behavior, and attendance to ensure every student receives the support they need to be successful. Our teams meet consistently to discuss students who may need additional interventions, enrichment, or targeted supports.
In the coming weeks, some families may be contacted by their child’s teacher if there are significant concerns regarding academic performance and/or attendance. In rare and serious cases, this may include an initial conversation about the possibility of student retention. Please know that retention is a thoughtful, multi-step process—it is never a sudden decision and is reserved for severe cases where data shows a student has not yet met critical benchmarks despite layered supports.
If you receive outreach from your child’s teacher, we ask that you respond and engage in the conversation. Your voice, insight, and partnership matter deeply in this process. Our shared goal is always to make the best decision for your child’s long-term success, and that can only happen through strong collaboration between home and school.
OST Question of the Week
As Ohio State Testing approaches—with testing windows opening as early as April for students in Grades 3–5—we are continuing our Question of the Week initiative to help students build confidence and familiarity with OST-style questions. Each week, students engage with one thoughtfully selected question to practice skills, problem-solving, and test-taking strategies in a low-pressure way. This ongoing exposure helps students feel more comfortable with the format and expectations while reinforcing that learning is about growth and effort over time.
Families can support this work at home by:
-
Asking your child to explain how they got their answer, not just what the answer is.
-
Encouraging them to show their work and talk through their thinking step by step.
-
Practicing reading questions carefully and underlining key words together.
-
Reminding them to check their work and ask, “Does my answer make sense?”
-
Reinforcing a positive mindset by praising effort, persistence, and careful thinking.
Small, consistent conversations at home can make a big difference in building both skill and confidence. Thank you for partnering with us to support your child’s success.
