Leadership Letter
Dear Legacy Parents,
Thank you to all of you who came out for our programs last week! We were so thrilled to see the turnout for each of the events our students worked so hard on this fall semester. I particularly love the opportunities we get as a school to invite you all in and connect with you on a more personal level than the typical academic and behavioral conversations that tend to take the lion’s share of our interactions. We sincerely hope that you and your families enjoyed your kids’ performances as much as we did!
In the coming months, Mrs. LeSage and I have plans to share more about our school’s implementation of Capturing Kids’ Hearts and how it drives our work both interpersonally and within our classrooms and halls. I’m looking forward to highlighting a bit of that work for you in upcoming Ledger letters and (hopefully) opportunities at February conferences.
I want to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a most wonderful winter break and Christmas holiday with those you love. For those traveling like my husband and I, I pray for safety in your coming and going, health, and tons of JOY! As always, thank you for choosing us to take care of your kiddos. Your partnership in this work is everything!
Blessing to you this season,
Anna Bengtsson
Elementary Assistant Principal

NEW Policy for Club & Extracurriculars - PLEASE READ!
Our after school club program is expanding to include more opportunities for students to explore new interests. After school clubs give students the opportunity to strengthen friendships, develop new talents and engage in a fun academic manner. Through hands-on activities, teamwork, and problem solving, students strengthen their academic and social emotional skills as well as leadership skills.
Reminders of clubs/extracurricular policies:
Permission Slips: Students must have a signed permission slip form before they can participate.
Payment Policy: Space is limited and is on a first come, first served basis. You are not registered until payment is received and the instructor has verified your application has been received. Refunds will not be given. Example: Your child registered for one club, then decided they want to attend a different club - we will not give a refund.
Date Cancellations: If we have to cancel a date due to weather or other reasons there will NOT be a makeup day.
Pick Up: Please make sure your child is picked up promptly at the end of the scheduled club time. If you are late, your child will go to aftercare and you will incur a fee from after care. Your teacher will let you know where to pick up your child and the time.
Snacks: You may want to send your child an extra snack on club days.
We look forward to providing our students with after school enriching experiences. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to the leader of your club.
SCIENCE FAIR PLANNING
Our annual Legacy Science Fair is scheduled for March 5th. Get those ideas going but make sure you check the requirements before starting because your experiment must ask a testable scientific question. Detailed guidelines and project requirements will be available in January. While participation is optional, we encourage all students to join in and share their creative scientific projects.
