Meet Ms. Janice: Front Office Manager

Hi there! My name is Ms. Janice, and I am your new Office Manager at Berkeley Middle College. I grew up in Summerville and graduated from Summerville High School. I spent two years at Trident Tech before transferring to Marymount University, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree. After college, I joined the Foreign Service and lived in India, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. I have traveled the world and visited twenty-two countries so far.

When I am not working, I enjoy cycling, cooking, traveling, and all things art-related. I have three amazing kids! Connor, my oldest, is working on his master’s degree in Art History and German Studies at the University of Virginia. My middle child, Aidan, is at the University of Colorado in the Navy ROTC program. He is enrolled in the School of Engineering and studying Aeronautics. My youngest, Niko, is a junior here at BMC.

I am very excited to be here, and I look forward to meeting everyone!

Meet Mr. Lewis: Social Studies Teacher

My name is Chuck Lewis and I'm excited to be starting my 18th year in education as the new Social Studies teacher at Berkeley Middle College. I am a graduate of Andrews High School in Georgetown County, Wofford College (undergraduate degree), and the University of Alabama (graduate degree). Growing up in the Lowcountry of South Carolina gave me a deep appreciation of our local, regional, and national heritage and I'm blessed to be able to share this love of history with my students. In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my wife Maggie, son Clark (10), and daughter Wren (7). I am an avid supporter of University of Alabama sports, Arsenal Football Club (English soccer team), my kids' Irish Dance pursuits and youth sports teams, as well as all things Disney. I also share my love of global travel with my students through the sponsoring of international educational trips.

August 29th – BCSD Half Day

August 29th is our first BCSD Half Day, designated for staff development after students are dismissed. Please review the schedule below:

  • Juniors will dismiss at 11:50 a.m.

  • Juniors and Seniors may pick up a grab-and-go lunch from the lounge.

  • Buses will run at the regular dismissal time (3:00 p.m.).

Students will still leave at 3:00 because TTC does not observe a half day, and many students will attend their TTC classes and need their normal transportation home.
