Mohi Football Dominating Early
Monarch football is off to a solid start this season under new head coach Jeff Santee. Varsity, JV, and the C team had decisive wins over Longmont this past weekend.
On Varsity, Seniors Riley Montemayor and Archie Jahn led the team to a 30-14 victory.
JV dominated 52-0.
On the C team, freshman Chase Ivancic (pictured above in large photo) paved the way to a 41-6 win with 4 rushing touchdowns!
Come support the teams as they meet Broomfield this week. Varsity plays Friday night at 7pm at Broomfield with the C team and JV playing Saturday morning at 9 and 11am at Monarch.
Volleyball Starts Out 2-1 with big wins over Boulder and Brighton
It’s a fresh start for Monarch Girls volleyball under new head coach Kyle Becker, and they finished their first week 2-1. They opened the season with home court advantage against Boulder on Monday and steamrolled over them in a straight 3 set victory. Junior Anya Prater and Senior Sophia Stack showed their hitting skills, and sophomores Ali Towns and Petra Rohlinger were hot on service. The JV, C and D teams also came away with victories over Boulder, while the Coyote team lost.
On Tuesday, the ladies hit the road and played against Brighton, where all teams came away with a win. Varsity dropped the first set 26-24 but then recovered to win the next 3 sets in a row. They were fueled by impressive serving runs from Senior Bella Groelz and Junior Eva Becht, as well as strong front row blocking by Sophia Stack and Senior Josie Price, and several kills for Senior Kate Ryan. Senior Marie Thrash and Sophomore Maya Singh had many point-saving digs on the way to their 3-1 victory.
On Thursday, the Coyotes returned home to take on Arvada West, where they suffered their first loss of season in 3 sets. They kept it close, with Anya Prater, Josie Price and Ali Towns all putting down big hits, Kate Ryan throwing up some big blocks and Eva Becht once again demonstrating her serving prowess. The JV team came back strong after losing in the first set to bring home the only win for the program, with the other teams all falling to Arvada West.
This week, the team travels to Prairie View on Tuesday. Mark your calendars for their next home game on Monday, Sept 9 against Thomas Jefferson at 6:30 p.m.

Welcome to the Monarch Booster Club: Where Student Passions Soar!
Who Are We?
We're not just any parent group – we're the heart and soul of student support at Monarch High!
What makes us unique? We're the only parent volunteer organization at Monarch High, stepping in where there's no PTO or PTA. Our mantra is simple yet powerful: WE SUPPORT STUDENTS!
From Aviation Club to Choir to Soccer, we've got ALL students covered. With over 85% of Monarch students engaged in after-school activities, we're here to fan the flames of every student's passion. Whether your student is hitting high notes in the choir, coding the next big app, or scoring goals on the field, we're here to cheer them on and provide the support they need to excel.
In essence, we're the wind beneath the wings of Monarch's diverse and talented student body. Our goal? To ensure that every student has the resources and support they need to pursue their interests, develop their skills, and shine bright in their chosen activities.
What Do We Do?
- Bridge the Budget Gap: We're the financial superheroes for Monarch's clubs and activities! Last year, we granted over $36,000 to fill the space between budgets and actual needs. Think essential gear like tents/radios for the Mountain Bike Club, cutting-edge cameras for our budding journalists in Newspaper Club, and even pole vaults for our high-flying Track stars. When school budgets fall short, we leap into action!
- Shower Seniors with Scholarships: $10,000 in scholarships last year – that's 10 lucky seniors getting a $1,000 boost!
- Host Epic Tailgates: Buy a t-shirt, and you're in for a year of food, fun, and fantastic company!
- Run 'The Cave': Your one-stop shop for Monarch spirit wear and game-day snacks.
- Shout Student Success: We're the proud parent voice in newsletters and social media, celebrating every achievement.
- Throw the Bash of the Year: Our annual Booster Bash is the talk of the town – cocktails, dinner, dancing, and auctions galore!
