Brief Message From the Principal

Dear Jayhawk Elementary Families,

Did You Know?

Our school is fortunate to receive Title I funding through the Kansas State Board of Education. Title I is a federal program that provides additional resources to schools based on student needs. The goal is to ensure that all children have a fair and equal opportunity to succeed academically.

Schools can use Title I funds in many ways, including:

  • Providing extra support in reading and math

  • Offering intervention programs for students who need additional help

  • Supplying materials and resources that enhance classroom learning

  • Supporting professional development for teachers

At JES, Title I funding allows us to strengthen our academic programs and provide targeted supports that benefit every student. If you would like more detailed information about how Title I works in our district, please feel free to contact our office.

JES Kindness Awards Continue!

We are excited to share that our Kindness Awards tradition is continuing this school year! Each month, one student will be recognized for going above and beyond in showing kindness to others throughout our building. Our monthly winner will be randomly selected from the group of students nominated by staff members.

The recipient will be presented with a special award certificate and a Kindness Winner t-shirt, generously provided by local community organizations. While only one student is officially recognized each month, we are incredibly proud of all the students who are nominated and consistently demonstrate the importance of kindness at JES.

Family Communication

If you haven’t already, please take a moment to sign up for our new Rooms communication tool. This platform allows families to stay in constant contact with their child’s classroom teacher and is now our primary method of communication across USD 346. Using Rooms ensures that you never miss important updates, reminders, or classroom news. If you need help accessing Rooms, please see the link provided or reach out to our office for assistance.
