There were a few issues with our registration portal for the South Padre Island. It is live again and will remain open through February 12th.

Students who have signed up for the trip will sign up for hotel rooms this week on Monday and Tuesday. Seniors and Juniors will sign up at any time on Monday. Sophomores will sign up before school on Tuesday. Freshmen will sign up during class or after school on Tuesday.

We are hosting the UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest on February 17 at Davenport HS. We need 12 volunteers throughout the course of the day. There is a morning and afternoon shift. Parents, please consider signing up to volunteer.

We are holding our Pre-UIL for woodwind/brass ensembles and percussion solos on Monday, February 12th. Students will perform for a judge to get a rating and feedback to use to continue to prepare for UIL on February 17th at Davenport HS. Students need to dress nice and report to their performance room 10 minutes before their performance time.

Here is a tentative performance schedule for woodwinds and brass.

Please mark your calendars for the following sectional rehearsals in the first half of February.

• Tuesday, February 13th - Woodwinds and Brass, 4:45-6:15 pm (combined to give students Valentine's Day off)
  

We are having our second annual Casino Night fundraiser on February 24th. We are looking for donations for silent auction items. Please email Mr. Keyes (jeffrey.keyes@comalisd.org) or Mr. Lachance (chrislachance@live.com) if you have a donation or any leads.

We are hosting the UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest on February 17th. Students that earn a 1st division rating on a solo or ensemble will earn a letter jacket if they have not already done so. Students that play a Class 1 solo (from memory) or and Class 1 ensemble and earn a 1st division rating will advance to the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest at the end of May in Austin, TX. These state qualifiers will have their picture added to our wall of fame in the band hall.

All ensembles and percussion solos will perform at the Solo and Ensemble Recital on February 12th.

All ensembles will also be performing at the Casino Night on February 24th in the evening.
