This week we practiced one of the many ways we keep ourselves and each other safe. In partnership with the Ashland Fire and Police Departments, our students participated in a fire drill. Just like we practice reading, writing, or math, we also practice safety so that if there ever were an emergency, everyone would know exactly what to do.

Curriculum Nights

Later this month, each grade level will host a Curriculum Night for parents. This year, the format will be a little different:

  • We’ll begin with a short 15-minute presentation in the Dining Room from Erica Linares, Katie Bent, and me about our school goals for the year.
  • Afterward, you’ll go directly to your child’s classroom for a presentation from their teacher.
  • Teachers will not be presenting as a grade level group in the Dining Room, but instead in their own classrooms.

Interpretation Services

To better support our families, we are introducing live virtual interpreters. Interpreters will interpret in real time, so presentations won’t need to pause for translation. Families who need interpretation services must sign up in advance using the form below. Parents will use their own devices or loaned Chromebooks with earbuds to access the live interpretation stream.

👉 Use this link to Fill out this Form. We will make sure we have an interpreter for you.

Schedule:

  • Grade 2: September 24, 6:00 PM
  • Grade 1: September 29, 6:00 PM
  • Kindergarten: September 30, 6:00 PM

School Council Opening

Our School Council is seeking a new member! This group of parents, staff, and a community member works together to support school improvement. If you are interested, please reach out to me at pregan@ashland.k12.ma.us to learn more.

Thank you for your continued partnership and for sharing your amazing children with us each day!

Have a great weekend,
Pete

On September 15, Warren School will join millions of people around the world in celebrating International Dot Day, a day all about creativity, courage, and collaboration! Inspired by The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds, this special day encourages students to “make their mark and see where it takes them.”

Families can continue the celebration at home by asking your child:

  • What does it mean to “make your mark”?

  • What kind of mark do you want to make this year at school?

We look forward to seeing the unique ways our students share their creativity and confidence on Dot Day!
