Welcome to Roots & Shoots

Roots & Shoots is a global youth science education/community service project founded by Dr. Jane Goodall. We are the fourth element of our Connections program. Every student is immersed in fascinating and relevant environmental science exploration and learning through hands-on activities, independent inquiry, and science note booking. Students in Grades 4 and 5 can choose to join our Sage Canyon Student Council, where they will seek out opportunities to help our school and the larger community. We even grow and sell produce from our own gardens!

This is my 23rd year of teaching, and this life is my absolute passion. I have a Master's Degree in Instructional Media and am completing a Colorado State University certification in being a Rocky Mountain Naturalist. I can't wait to get started on this year's adventure!
