Teacher Appreciation Week
As we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of our parents and students for the ongoing support, encouragement, and partnership you show our school community throughout the year. Your involvement and positive spirit make a tremendous impact, helping all of our staff do their best work and empowering our students to thrive academically and personally.
Thank you for your collaboration, for fostering a love of learning at home, and for supporting our teachers in countless ways. Together, we are building a nurturing environment where every student can succeed. Here's to a wonderful week of appreciation for our teachers—and for every family and student who makes our school such a special place to learn and grow. Show your appreciation to a staff member this week with an email, note, or call. Thank you for all your support.
"REVENGE OF THE 6TH"
It's STAR WARS Day at Gompers on Tuesday, 5.6.25. While May 4th is the unofficial celebration of "May the 4th be with you," this year falls on a Sunday. Instead, we will celebrate Star Wars day on "Revenge of the 6th" for students and staff.
Wear your favorite Star Wars gear. Yoda ears, sweaters, shirts, lightsabers, or full outfits are all welcome. Come to school in your best, have fun, and "May the Force Be With You!"
603 students meet the attendance challenge of 90% or higher for April.
They had a social during our last period on 5.2.25 to celebrate.🪶
National School Nurse Day
Since 1972, National School Nurse Day has been set aside to recognize school nurses. National School Nurse Day was established to foster a better understanding of the role of school nurses in the educational setting. School Nurse Day is celebrated on Wednesday within National Nurses Week. National Nurses Week is May 6-12 each year. This year, National School Nurse Day falls on Wednesday, May 7th, 2025. Show your appreciation for your school nurses next week! Thank you to Mrs. Quitman for all you do for our students and staff!
Early Dismissal Day
Students will be dismissed at 11:25 AM on Thursday, 5.8.25, for an Early Dismissal Day. All teachers and administration are engaged in professional development activities and will not be available until after 3:00 pm. Therefore, students are not allowed to stay at school. Please speak to your student regarding your expectations on where you want them to go after the early dismissal. Bus routes will run as usual on an altered schedule. However, please ensure your student knows what you want them to do after the early dismissal. See below for the bell schedule.

Attendance Matters!
Intentionally monitoring your student's attendance can prevent unnecessary absences, especially at this point in the school year. Here are some tips to help you with your students at home.
- Monitor your student's attendance record and address any patterns of absenteeism.
- If you notice a pattern of absences, address the underlying causes and work with us to find solutions.
- If your student is struggling with attendance, seek help from our school counselors, social workers, or other support personnel.
