Opening Night Tonight!
Hear ye, hear ye! Seaside High School Drama is proud to present the fall play, The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood, by Mary Lynn Dobson. This show has something for everyone: a swashbuckling band of merry outlaws, an eligible royal lady, an evil tyrant usurping the throne, and even a high-stakes tournament for the love of the lady. Featuring a cast and crew of 27 SHS students, the show will run Friday, October 16; Saturday, October 17; Friday, October 23; and Senior Night, Saturday, October 24. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the show starts at 7 pm. Tickets are sold at the door and are $10 for adults and students 12 and up; $8 for seniors, secondary students with an ASB card, and children age 11 and under. You don’t want to miss this family-friendly comedy!
Navy Band Northwest Visits Seaside
Seaside High School had the pleasure of hosting Navy Band Northwest yesterday! Students thoroughly enjoyed an energetic live performance in the gymnasium where they played medleys of New Orlean's jazz hits and threw in some Seattle favorites from Nirvana. Following the show, our band students got a special treat—an exclusive Q&A session with the Navy musicians to ask questions and learn about music, technique, and careers in military bands. A big thank you to Navy Band Northwest for visiting and inspiring our school community!

Every Day Counts: Attendance & Punctuality Matter!
Welcome to the second half of the Fall Term! As we dive into this next phase of the school year, we want to emphasize how essential regular attendance and arriving on time are to student success:
Every Day Matters: Missing just a couple of days a month adds up quickly, making it harder for students to keep up with key concepts and group projects.
Every Minute Counts: Arriving on time ensures students don't miss morning announcements, warm-ups, and essential routines that set a positive, organized tone for the day.
Stronger Together: Every student’s presence enriches our classrooms, builds confidence, and strengthens our entire school community.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership in helping our students thrive. Let’s make every day count—see you on time!

Unified Cornhole is a low commitment, fun way to engage in sports and build amazing friendships. We will be having an informal practice in the Aux Gym during lunch on Wednesday. If you are interested, please join us. The team will be lead by Ms. Roberts and Mr. Stinson. Feel free to reach out to them with any questions.

Student Health Survey
Our school is participating in the Student Health Survey (SHS), a survey sponsored by the Oregon Health Authority Public Health Division and the Oregon Department of Education. The survey asks about health risk behaviors of students in grades 6, 8 and 11. The survey will be conducted online in the classroom and includes questions about student health and safety, mental and behavioral health, school climate and culture, and risk and protective factors. This survey is completely anonymous and voluntary. This year's student survey will be taking place the 3rd week of November.
If you do not wish your child to take this survey, return this form to the principal’s office before the survey date of 11/18/2026

- Weather related updates

- Weekly updates
- and much much more!
Parents – Getting Started Video (Spanish)
ParentVUE
ParentVUE is different than ParentSquare. ParentVUE is used to register your student and view assignments and grades. ParentVUE has released a brand new app. If you would like to use the app you will need to download the new version. If you can't remember your ParentVUE login information please contact our main office at 503-738-5586.
Through ParentVUE you can:
- Register your student each school year
- View your student's classes
- Check your student's grades and status of any assignments
- Communicate with your student's teachers
- And much much more!
For even more convenience you can download the ParentVUE app (available for free for iOS and Android devices).
StudentVUE
StudentVUE is a dedicated portal designed specifically for students to stay on top of their own academic progress. Through StudentVUE, students can take ownership of their learning by viewing daily class schedules, tracking assignment statuses, checking current grades in real time, and easily contacting their teachers.
Just like ParentVUE, StudentVUE has a brand-new app! If your student prefers using a phone or tablet, they will need to download the updated version from the iOS App Store or Google Play Store. If your student needs help logging in or resetting their password, please have them stop by or call the main office at 503-738-5586.
Through StudentVUE, students can:
View daily class schedules and room assignments
Track upcoming assignment due dates and submission statuses
Check current grades and missing assignments in real time
Communicate directly with their teachers
Access important academic updates all year long
For the best experience on the go, download the free StudentVUE app on iOS or Android today!
My Ride K12
Seaside School Transportation is introducing the My Ride K12 app to provide families with real-time bus schedules, locations, and routing. Many parents already find it helpful, but please note that due to a summer update, returning users must re-add their students using the school ID found in ParentVUE under Student Info. We prioritize your privacy and reassure families that you are not interacting with an AI system; your information is strictly used to connect you to your student's route. If you prefer not to use the mobile app, you can access the service via a web browser or contact the Transportation Department directly for alternative registration options. To get started or learn more, visit Seaside School Transportation.Sign up below today!
Seaside Secondary School Is Going Paperless!
Seaside Secondary School has gone paperless! Report cards and progress reports will no longer be sent home.
To view grades please log in to ParentVUE and select either Grade Book or Report Card.
If you need help logging in or would like to opt out of electronic report cards, please contact the Main Office at 503-738-5586.
Student Parking
Students that drive themselves to school and park in the school parking lot must have a parking permit and sticker. Stickers are free and transfer from year-to-year. Please complete the Google Form below to request a sticker.
Parents will be notified when their students are provided with a parking sticker.
SHS is a closed campus and students may not leave campus unless they have prior authorized permission from their parent/guardian
.
Student parking is only permitted on the east/mountain side of the building. Students are not allowed to park in the staff parking lot on the west/ocean side of the building.
Reminder when parking on our steep hill to curb your tires to help avoid any accidental rolling.
Bus Information
Please click the LINK here for bus stop information.
If you cannot find your bus stop or believe it is incorrect, please contact our transportation supervisor at 503-738-7150 or cpeters@seasidek12.org.
Please be at your bus stop 5 minutes earlier than the scheduled pick-up time. Bus times vary due to traffic levels. Bus route information is posted on our school website. See link above.
During the 2026-2027 school year we will again be using our bus badge program. This program increases the safety of our students on our buses by allowing us to know who is on the bus at all times and at which stop they exited.
Here's how it works. Student ID Bus Badge system utilizes an ID which communicates with the Bus Pass scanner located on the bus. Students will scan the badge as students enter and exit the bus instead of having to take paper attendance.
If you prefer to opt your bus rider out of this program please cotact the Transportation Department directly at cpeters@seasidek12.org or 503-738-7150. It is important to note that students who opt-out of the electronic monitoring portion of the program will still need to show their Student ID Bus Pass to ride a district school bus. Their badge will just not have an active barcode to scan.
Lost/Damaged Student ID?
Have you lost or damaged your Student ID? No problem! Simply fill out the below form to request a replacement.
Bus Note FAQ's
Q: My student needs to ride the bus home with another student today - what should I do?
A: We must have requests preferably no later than one hour prior to the end of the school day. Permission may be provided verbally over the phone, emailed, or with a note given to the Main Office indicating the date, the name of the student your student will be riding with, and your contact information
You may email the request to sgiess@seasidek12.org or aplarson@seasidek12.org If you need further assistance please call the main office at (503)738-5586.
Student Attendance/Pickup
If you will need to pick up your student before the school day ends, please send them in the morning with a note to the Main Office. That way we can have your student ready for pickup at the time you need them. You may also call us ahead of time and we will get your student ready for you.
To avoid receiving the automated attendance notices if your student is absent, please contact the Main Office as soon as possible at 503-738-5586.
The Main Office hours are Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm.
Student Medications
If your student has medical issues or needs to take medications during the school day, we need to hear from you ASAP! The medications will need to be delivered to the main office by the parent/guardian (NOT the student). We will ask the parent to complete forms for each medication your student takes. If you would like to prefill the forms out please see below. Even if your student has medication they need to keep with them during the school day i.e.: inhaler or epi pen or if your student takes an over the counter medication ie: cough drops or Advil, we need to have a parent signed form on file.
For our 7th grade students: Please be aware that all 7th graders need a Tdap booster as part of their required immunizations to attend school. If your student has not yet had that booster, please contact your primary care provider for this immunization. Immunization exclusion day comes in mid February where all students must be up to date, or have an exemption in place, to avoid school exclusion.
Please contact the Main Office at (503) 738-5586 or the school nurse, Dani Nelson at dnelson@seasidek12.org

ALL VOLUNTEERS must first complete an application and background check to create a profile in the district-wide Volunteer Management System. Once a profile is created, volunteers will be able to update personal information, view and sign up for volunteer needs, and communicate with the school(s).
Please keep in mind that background checks may take more than five business days to be processed. If you have already completed a background check at one of our schools you do not need to complete one for additional schools. Just let us know that you've already completed a background check at a different SSD school and we'll get you switched.

If you have more than one child in need of a food bag, please fill out this form for each child.
