Mission Statement

St. Joseph Catholic School fosters a diverse community of disciples empowered through a rigorous and inclusive Catholic education rooted in Gospel values and service to others.

mass reflections

In today’s homily, Father Zach shared with us St. Rose of Lima’s story. He told us how she wanted to be a nun and her father didn’t approve because he wanted her to be safe and healthy. Finally, her father gave in and let her join the holy order. In the Gospel today, Jesus tells us how a landowner was generous to every worker and gave them their daily wage. The workers who had been there since the beginning were jealous of those who worked for an hour. The moral that I received from the story is the cure for envy is generosity.

Gabriela Lacen-Morales 8A

Today Father Zach talked about the story of the workers and a fair wage. There was a worker who worked all day and collected his usual wage and a worker who worked for an hour. They both received the same amount and the worker who worked all day got jealous because both got the same wage. You should be happy with what you get and not worry about what others get. Father Zach also talked about St. Rose of Lime. She was a happy woman because she knew God was always with her. People search for happiness their whole lives and it always slips away. They need to realize that God is their happiness and will never slip away.

Police Officer Sponsor

A very special thank you to the Moore Family for sponsoring our police officer this week for our school Mass. Family sponsors cover the $135 cost for our off duty Winter Haven Police Officer to be present on our campus during school Mass or other special events. The sponsoring family also receives 13.5 volunteer hours (as families earn 1 hour for every $10 when requested by the school). A special thank you to all families who have already scheduled a sponsorship of a police officer. If you are interested in sponsoring a police officer, please reach out to Ms. Summer at sdehaven@stjosephwhschool.org.

Welcome new teachers

St. Joseph Catholic School welcomes four new teachers this year.

Ms. Tatiana Gandolff is the Math and Social Studies teacher in 4th grade. She has been a teacher for 16 years and has taught second, third, fourth, and fifth grade, as well as middle school and preschool. She is passionate about working with children to help them develop strong moral character qualities and strives to maintain a fun, welcoming environment in her classroom. She is new to Winter Haven and is looking forward serving the students and families in our community!

Mrs. Patty Becker is the middle school social studies teacher. She has been in education for over 30 years and has taught a variety of subjects across multiple grades including Middle School Language Arts and Social Studies. Mrs. Becker enjoys cooking, baking and spending time with her husband and three children in her free time.

Mrs. Jennifer Brown is teaching 3rd grade this year. She has been a teacher for 4 years and has taught 3rd grade. She has a daughter Skyler who attends Santa Fe High School.

Ms. Beth Main comes to SJCS with over 30 years teaching experience, many of which are in Gifted education. She will be teaching our Enrichment program this year for intermediate students. She enjoys those "a-ha" moments and watching kids take off when they learn something new.

We are so blessed to have these teachers join our staff.

St. Joseph Prayer

O Blessed Joseph, faithful guardian of my Redeemer, Jesus Christ, protector of Mary, the virgin Mother of God, I choose you this day to be my special patron and advocate and I firmly resolve to honor you all the days of my life. Therefore, I humbly ask you to receive me as your client, to instruct me in every doubt, to comfort me in every affliction, to obtain for me and for all the knowledge and love of the Heart of Jesus, and finally to defend and protect me at the hour of my death. Amen.
