Hello Woodstock Family!
This is our last newsletter for the school year? Wow!
We want to end the school year with a huge THANK YOU to our Woodstock Elementary Community!ππ¦
Thank you for showing up to events, helping to build our community, creating fun experiences, and giving our students the opportunity to create fun memories of their time at Woodstock. This year was full of events to remember:
Harvest Carnival
Lunar New Year
Dine Outs
Movie nights
Pokemon Bingo
Bike Busses
Garden Work Days
Mini-Makers Market
STEAM Festival
Spring Festival
Thank you for contributing your time through volunteering! These events could not have happened without our Woodstock Community showing up to plan, decorate, get behind the tables, bake treats for our bake sales, pop popcorn for movie nights and Popcorn Fridays, pull weeds from the garden and around the school, plant seeds, hand out stickers at Walk and Roll, and so many more things. We know there are a lot of activities and a lot of requests for volunteers, and we appreciate you choosing to spend your time with us. For every volunteer who shows up, thereβs a memory made with our family and friends, and we thank you for enriching the Woodstock experience this year.
Lastly, thank you for donating money to give our students so many opportunities to learn and have fun. Weβre on track to meet our fundraising goals this year, allowing us to provide those funds directly to the teachers and the school. Thank you for giving even as the price of everything is on the rise this year. Thank you for going the extra mile and encouraging your employers to donate matching funds. Thank you for reaching out to businesses you know. Here are just some of the things we were able to provide with your help this year:
Field trip funding for every grade
Proposal funding to purchase a gaga ball pit, put on the STEAM Festival, host a magic show assembly and evening presentation, obtain additional Woodstock Story Walks, and provide new paint for the playground!
Oregon Battle of the Books
School resources for teachers, music, art, counseling, the library, and PE.
Teacher and Staff Appreciation
We hope you enjoy the last week of school! See below for information about this week's events and find ways to help the garden and trees thrive over the summer.
Thank you for building a strong community this year and showing your Woodstock Pride. We hope you and your family have a summer full of just the right amount of adventure and relaxation. π
See you in the fall!

Help to Care for the Woodstock School Garden and Our School Trees
The Woodstock School Garden and its trees continue to thrive thanks to community support and volunteers. Please consider signing up for a week to water our school garden. Volunteers will be able to take home produce from the garden and any excess can be donated to a local food pantry. Of course, the amount of care that the garden will require during any particular week will also greatly depend on the weather. It could be as often as every couple of days if it is really hot or every 3 days if it is relatively cool.
We particularly need more people to help with watering trees! We have watering bags that will be placed around the trunks and they will mainly just need a good watering once or twice a month. It may be that the volunteers who care for the trees could be separate or there could be overlap. Let me know if you are interested in that role as well.

Bike Bus Skate Party on Saturday, June 6th
Letβs celebrate the Bike Bus kiddos, kids that rode to school, and those who joined us for one of our group rides with an end-of-year Skate Party at Mt. Scott Community Center. This free skate party will take place on Saturday, June 6th at Mt. Scott Community Center's Roller Skating Rink. The Woodstock Bike Bus will meet at the SE Reedway Bike racks at Woodstock School at 1 pm to ride together to Mt. Scott Community Center for the skate party. If you're not able to join the bike bus there, you are welcome to drop in between 12:30 - 4:30 pm. Bike Parking is available on the east and west sides of Mt.
