End of the School Year Wrap Up

We have (almost) made it to the end of the school year! I hope as you wind down library services for the school year this May, you consider thinking about how to plan for the 2019-2020 school year to grow, improve, and ensure the library media center positively impacts all students.

There will be a May First Friday; I know May is a hectic time with testing, end of the year activities, but it will be a continuation of the collection development & strategic planning discussion from February. This is a good topic to think on as you wrap up the school year. There will be a prerecorded session available for viewing at your convenience. If you would like to send in any questions for end of the year wrap up, you are welcome to send use this Google Form to submit questions.

I encourage you to check out the summer learning opportunities highlighted below. If anymore opportunities come to my attention, I will post on the ALMO website http://bit.ly/ALMO1.

I hope to see many of you at ASLA 2019 on June 11 at Foley Elementary School. This will be a day dedicated to learning opportunities for library media specialists. Information is available at http://bit.ly/ASLA2019.

There are three regional PD opportunities available that I will be helping present information. I hope to see you there!

The goal is to answer end of the year questions, give you information to help you plan for the library media program for the upcoming school year, and begin talking about budgeting for the library.

Media Specialists and K-12 educators will spend the morning sessions investigating the AASL National School Library standards for media specialists and the digital literacy and computer science course of study standards.
