7th Grade News, February 17
From the desk of Chris Howell, 7th Grade Principal
This year is moving along quickly. It is hard to believe that we are already halfway through February. The forecast is calling for very cold weather this week so please encourage students to dress appropriately to keep warm.
As some of you have heard, we are having some issues with students vandalizing the 2nd floor boys' restroom. Because of this, it was shut down earlier last week for a day. While this causes an inconvenience to students, it does not mean they do not have a restroom to use. Hopefully, the majority of students who are treating the restroom respectfully will convince the others to do the same.
I would again like to congratulate all of the students listed below who earned Principal and Scholar Awards. Keep working hard.

Quick Announcements
- The College Credit Plus Registration Link.
- We kindly request that you refrain from using the staff parking lot during arrival and dismissal times for dropping off or picking up your students. Utilizing this area can impede access for buses and staff entering the parking lot, and it raises safety concerns for all students.
Reminder:
Procedure for picking students up early. When picking up your child from school for appointments, not feeling well, or other reasons;
- You will be required to park your car
- Enter the building
- Press the intercom and present your driver's license for identity verification
- Sign out your child on the cart in the vestibule
When that is complete, your student will be called down and sent out to you.
Thanks everyone. Have a wonderful week.
STRONG
At the beginning of this quarter, Strongsville Middle School has retired our PBIS PRIDE montra and have adopted STRONG. While the most of the elementary schools are still using PRIDE, we decided to join the high school with STRONG.

Attention all 7th and 8th grade boys and girls that did NOT play for a SMS basketball team this season. We are once again running our 3 on 3 Intramural Basketball Tournament. February 18-20. There are 4 students per team with a maximum of 12 teams. It is a first come, first serve, situation. It is a hard cut off at 12 teams! Students must sign themselves up, parents can not do it for you. Click the link provided or find a poster with a QR code in your pod or hallways. Make sure your 4 teammates are in agreement on the team and all 4 team members must fill out the Form. We will do our best to find an individual a team. Make sure you are signing up for 7-8 grade and not scanning a 6th grade poster. See Mr. Mester (media center) or Mr. Green (rm 317) with any questions.
