PBL Weekly Blast

week of January 6 - 12th
School resumes Tuesday, January 7th
🎉 December at the PBL Pathway
Service-Learning Presentations of Learning:
Our 9th graders shined as they presented their creative ideas and products to Best Friends LA and West LA Animal Shelters. They shared their impactful experiences and gained valuable feedback from shelter staff.
If you would like to explore, click on the link below to view videos and sample student portfolios of the experience.
10th-12th Grade Presentations of Learning:
A new format allowed panel members to offer more critical feedback and dive deep into the work of student projects. It was a supportive environment to acknowledge achievements and identify opportunities for growth. Thank you to the parents who were able to join in the panel discussions.
🏠Advisory Challenge - Gingerbread House Competition:
The holiday spirit came alive as advisories battled it out to build the most unique gingerbread creations using identical supplies. Judged by the Samohi Admin Team, the seniors took home the sweet victory with their gingerbread train! 🏆
👏 Shoutout to our incredible PBL seniors and their advisor, Bailey!
Every Tuesday, when not busy with interviews, shadowdays, or internships, our seniors have been making a meaningful impact at Silvercrest Senior Residence. Whether it’s sharing stories, sewing, crafting, or providing tech support, they’ve built connections and spread joy among the Silvercrest senior citizens. 💛
This is service learning at its best—bridging generations, creating memories, and showcasing the heart of the Class of 2025. We’re so proud of your dedication and compassion, seniors! 🌟
🍴 A Perfect End to the Semester at PBL!
On the last day of the semester, our amazing PBL Parents treated us to a delicious feast from Panda Express. Sharing a meal together is one of the best ways to build community and strengthen relationships, and this day was no exception!
We were also honored by the presence of alumni from the Class of 2023 and 2024 and our beloved former math teacher, Amy Tsang. Not only did they join the community meeting, but they also jumped in to help serve lunch, showing the deep sense of belonging and connection that comes with being part of the PBL Pathway.
Thank you to everyone who made this day so special. The power of community is alive and thriving! Looking forward to more creativity, learning, and community in 2025!
