Good News for CSD Families
Beginning this school year, all students who qualify for reduced-price meals will now receive meals at no cost. The Free/Reduced Meal program has changed, and there is no longer a reduced-price category for eligible students—all reduced meals are now FREE.
Families are encouraged to complete a Free/Reduced Meal Application to determine if they qualify for free meal benefits and other eligible programs. Applications are available through your school office or click on the link below.
Drivers Education Classes Offered for Hermosa/Custer Area

Course cost: $425 for 30-hours of classroom instruction and 6-hours of driving instruction with an 80% or higher grade in order to successfully complete this course. Failure to meet this standard will disallow the student from receiving the Driver Education Certificate of Completion, which will result in the student having to take the written and/or driving test at a SD driver exam station. STUDENT SHOULD BE 14 YEARS OLD OR OLDER AT THE TIME CLASS BEGINS. The course cost is payable upon registration. PARENTS: if you register your student online, please add your information first as the main profile, then add your student's info by clicking Add Member. HERMOSA SCHOOL SUBURBAN ROUTE DRIVER (AM/PM)- needed at Hermosa School, starting 8/25/26. Driver will transport JK-8 Hermosa School students by suburban starting in Hermosa and traveling East on Highway 40 in the AM and PM. Position begins at 6:30 am and ends at 7:30 am in the AM, begins at 3:40 pm and ends at 4:40 pm, according to school calendar. (approx 8 hours/week). Applicant may be asked (if available) to sub for the Spring Creek & Hwy 40 Routes run from 6:00 am-7:30 am and 3:40 pm-5:40 pm as needed. Pay $22.08/hr. Applicant must have a valid South Dakota driver’s license (does not require a CDL) and a clean driving record. Will be required to complete a criminal background check.
