Week Nineteen Notes
After several unexpected days off due to inclement weather, we are excited to be back together and settling into our school routines again. While those extra days at home can be a nice change of pace, children thrive on consistency, and it’s been wonderful to see students reconnect with their teachers, classmates, and daily learning rhythms. Our staff has been intentionally revisiting expectations, schedules, and classroom routines to help everyone feel grounded and confident as we move forward. Thank you for your continued support at home—together, we’re looking ahead to a productive stretch of learning as we get back into our groove.
With Viking Pride,
Mrs. Love

Dundee Community Schools has provided you with the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. The Infinite Campus Parent Portal allows you to have real-time access to announcements, attendance, report cards and more. We would like every parent to have access to this tool as all report cards will now be here. No paper copies will be sent home unless requested. Below is a link to create and activate your Campus Parent account.

• Create your own unique username. Please DO NOT use your student's ID number or network login.
• Enter a password until at least the indicator for the password turns green and says 100%.
• Please know that there is an app available for Infinite Campus in the Apple App and Google Play stores.
• Please bookmark this site for easy access https://dundeemi.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/dundee.jsp

Viking Value of the Trimester: Ownership
In December, we celebrated our weekly PBIS winners, but also were able to reward our monthly winners with cookie decorating! Great job, Vikings!
Our next Viking Value focus is taking ownership on the playground! We’re encouraging all students to take responsibility for their actions, belongings, and the shared space during recess. This means cleaning up after ourselves, reporting problems, and telling the truth.
Families can support ownership at home by encouraging children to clean up their play areas, take care of their belongings, and talk about how their actions affect others. Asking your child how they showed ownership on the playground each day can help reinforce this important value and strengthen the connection between home and school.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me at jay.briggs@dundeeschools.org or by calling (734)-529-2350 EXT. 12005

Caring for Ourselves and Each Other as We Look Ahead to Spring
February can feel like a long stretch of winter—short days, cold weather, and fewer chances to be outside. During this time of year, it’s especially important to focus on self-care, connection, and overall wellness for our students, families, and staff.
Winter can affect our energy, mood, and motivation. Encouraging simple self-care routines can make a big difference:
- Keep consistent routines for sleep, meals, and school days
- Move your body when possible—stretching, dancing, or indoor play all count
- Take breaks from screens and make time for creative or calming activities
- Talk about feelings and name emotions, even the tricky ones
As February moves forward, we can begin to hope for spring ahead—longer days, warmer weather, and new beginnings. Talking with students about upcoming changes helps build optimism and resilience. Even small things like noticing daylight lasting longer or planning future activities can help boost mood and motivation.
February is a great reminder to lead with kindness and compassion. Children are still learning how to manage emotions, solve problems, and communicate needs. When challenges arise, we encourage our school community to expect good intentions, offer grace, and work together to support growth. By caring for ourselves and showing empathy toward others, we create a school environment where everyone feels safe, supported, and valued.
Please reach out if you are in need of additional support.
