Protect Your $6000 Promethean Board

Please DO NOT use your Promethean Board as a place to mount large (or small) sticky notes. The glue residue from the sticky portion of the paper will stay on the board and ruin the touch surface.

Instead you could have the students create this chart digitally using the Promethean Board. The students could have "digitally written" on the board and the teacher could save the image and use it as a reference in the future.

The same charts could have also been created collaboratively in Google and then shared with all of the students to have access whenever they wanted or needed it.

If you need assistance learning HOW to do this contact your DLS.

Online Resources

We all know that the internet is a wonderful place full of ways to learn more about the things that interest us, but the internet is also a platform that anyone can push their own agendas on, and it's important that students learn how to make sure their sources are valid.

Here is a great lesson idea to use with your students to help them take a closer look at their information sources online!

Google Forms - Locked Quiz Mode

Did you know you can help keep students focused while they take quizzes and tests on their Chromebooks? When students take a quiz in locked mode, they won’t be able to browse other websites or open any other apps.

Locked mode collects email addresses and limits quizzes to only your domain. When in locked mode:

  • Students can’t use other apps.
  • Some extensions and keyboard shortcuts are disabled.
  • If a student exits the quiz, or opens any other tab, the teacher is notified via email.

Aldine ISD Film Workshop

The Aldine ISD film workshop for this semester will take place on February 22nd, 2020, at the Bamberg building. The event will start at 8:00 am and will go until 4:00 pm (Video screening starts at 2:30). The event will conclude at 4:00 PM. Students are responsible for their transportation.

Teachers MUST attend with their team and will be compensated $25.00 per hour for the day of the workshop. For this workshop, we will be focusing on "using what the students have." The focus will be on using the tools the students have available to them. This can be a phone, a digital camera, or anything they have accessible.

The other change in this year's workshop is we will be giving the students a video "challenge" that will be announced that morning. We will provide teams with what must be in the video (a word or a phrase) and a required prop. The prop will be something common but will need to be in the video. We will inform the teams of these items on the morning of the workshop. Link to sign up
