Rope and Anchor...
The final weeks of the year can feel less like a gentle slide and more like a rugged climb. If you’re feeling the weight of the finish line, you aren’t alone. This week, we are looking at a powerful perspective on how true resilience isn’t built solo, but is forged between us.
"The end of the year can be a mountain, but we’re roped together. If one slips, the other holds fast. We’re reaching the summit either way."
But being an "anchor" for someone doesn't mean having all the answers—it just means having the strength to hold the rope when they stumble. Let's explore how to build these crucial connections in our personal and professional lives.
Let's make sure everyone gets to the top.

Activities for the Week:
🚧Road Construction Near School🚧
Starting on May 11th, Gehring Construction and Ready Mix will begin the "Walnut Street Paving Improvements". This is a two phase process that will take some time.
During Phase 1 (May 11th), they will begin work on the north end of Walnut Street and close one block (to Apple Street). There will be no access to the black top road or the side streets of Carol Street.
This means that we will have a ONE WAY enter and exit for school. We will have normal bus pick up for elementary on the South side of the school and for our MS/HS students on the West side. However, instead of exiting from the North side, we will have to go to the South side. This will involve some maneuvering as well as vehicles to be moved for this to happen.
Also, when we are entering and exiting, this will cause a bottleneck effect and cause slower entering and exiting through the South exit. I will keep you updated with more updates as it continues to progress.
If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Tejkl (ttejkl@shelby.esu7.org) or by phone as well. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding.

🚌School Bus Driver Appreciation Post🚌
We want to give a massive shoutout to the amazing team that keeps our students moving!
Rain or shine, these dedicated drivers are the first friendly faces our kids see in the morning and the ones who ensure they get home safely every afternoon. It takes more than just driving skills to manage a bus—it takes patience, a big heart, and a whole lot of "Husky" pride!
Not all superheroes wear capes—some wear aprons!
We are celebrating the incredible team that keeps our students fueled and ready to learn. From prep work to the serving line, these heroes bring more than just food to the table—they bring kindness and a lot of heart.

Message for the Week:
Message from Mr. Tejkl
Be the Anchor..
Good afternoon!
I am a little late getting this out but what a weekend it was. Thank you to all of those who made all of our graduations a success and to everyone behind the scenes that have made an impact on our students and their trajectory. You may not recognize it but the little interactions you have make an impact. People see and notice the time you put into what you do. You may not think it, but your pebble dropped into the middle of the water creates wavelengths that stretch farther than the eye may see.
The climb toward the end of the year rarely looks like a straight path; for most of us—whether we are balancing a heavy course load, managing a complex end of the year, or simply navigating the personal hurdles of a busy season—it feels like a rugged mountain. But the secret to reaching the summit isn’t found in individual grit alone; it’s found in the "rope" we tie between ourselves and those around us.
Building these connections starts with the simple, steady practice of reliability—being the person who shows up when they say they will, creating a safety net that allows others to breathe. It’s reinforced through low-stakes check-ins that validate the struggle before it becomes a crisis, and it’s strengthened when we have the courage to be vulnerable. By admitting the climb is steep, we provide the "footholds" for others to step in and offer support.
When we stop trying to summit in isolation and start acting as each other’s anchors, the mountain doesn't get any smaller, but the weight of the climb becomes something we can actually carry. We are moving toward the finish line together, and as long as we hold fast to one another, the summit isn't just a possibility—it's a certainty. All it takes is one person to trust and
Have a great rest of your week!
Sincerely,
Tucker Tejkl
