Dear PHS Students and Families,

Here is this week's update. Please do not ever hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about these or any other matters. To communicate more effectively with the community, we are now posting the recording of our daily announcements on PowerSchool. This will allow students and their families easy access to our daily announcements, even if they are not in a classroom watching them. Here are today's daily announcements to give you an idea of what you can see and hear each day. (Actually, these are yesterday's announcements, as there were no new announcements today.

The fall is a busy time of year for our seniors and their families. Here are a few important notes for the Class of 2026 and their families:

  • Parent Yearbook Ads: Parents interested in creating a yearbook ad to celebrate their child can do so up until December 31. Please click here to do so.
  • 2026-27 COLLEGE FAIR: PHS Guidance Department, in collaboration with Silver Lake Regional High School and Whitman-Hanson Regional High School, will host the annual College Fair Thursday, September 24, from 6-8 p.m. in the PHS Gymnasium. All seniors and their families are invited to attend. As always, we plan on having over 60 colleges and universities in attendance at our College Fair.
  • Financial Aid Night: Pembroke High is once again partnering with Jodi Conway of Conway College Aid to present our College Financial Aid night. • FAFSA® and College Board CSS Profile® applications
  • preliminary eligibility estimates
  • creating a timeline to meet each college’s financial aid deadlines

STUDENT DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP:

While I made note of this in two email blasts earlier this school year, it does bear repeating. Please keep in mind that our drop-off and pick-up procedures have been in place for several years for good reason, have been created with support from the Pembroke Police Department, and are necessary to ensure the safety of all stakeholders that access our campus each day.

When dropping off students in the morning, parents and caregivers should please enter our front parking lot by turning into our bus loop and then taking the second left into the parking lot just before the bus loop curves to the left and moves in front of our building. Please do not take the first left into our parking lot to cut through the drop-off line. This poses a safety concern for our staff, who are parking their vehicles in that front lot for the day and then walking through the lot to our front entrance.

When pulling into the drop-off line, please pull all the way forward past our flagpole so that your car is now facing Hobomock Elementary and our parking lot exit. This will speed up the drop-off process because we will be able to fit more cars into the drop-off zone. This will allow more students to exit at a time and result in a shorter drop-off line. Please view this image for a visual of our morning drop-off procedures (new and improved image courtesy of Mrs. Sara DeMille).

Student dismissal is at 2:20 p.m. Unlike our drop-off, which happens over a period of time each morning (roughly between 7:00-7:30 a.m.), dismissal happens all at once, with every parent and every student looking to leave campus at the exact same time.

As a result, student pick-up is a bit more challenging. Parents picking their children up should park in an empty parking space in our front faculty lot to wait for their child. Please do not park in our side student lot. This presents a significant safety risk for our student drivers. Likewise, please do not park along Learning Lane or across the street at Hobomock Elementary School. This also creates many safety concerns.

Again, we thank you for your cooperation in following our drop-off and pick-up procedures.

A NOTE FROM OUR NURSE - MEDICATION REMINDERS FOR THE 2026-27 SCHOOL YEAR:

If your child carries an EpiPen or inhaler, please remember to have the healthcare provider submit a new medication order to the school nurse, Mrs. McEvoy, for the 2026–2027 school year. Please note that in addition to the medication order, a Medication Administration Plan Form and a Medication Self-Administration Form must be completed and signed by a parent/guardian. If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Mrs. McEvoy at susan.mcevoy@pembrokek12.org.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY - ELIGIBILITY INVITATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:

Last week, all eligible candidates for admission into the National Honor Society were notified of their eligibility via student email. To be eligible, students must be a junior or senior (who is not already in the NHS) with a cumulative GPA of 3.7. The email invites recipients to submit student profile packets to the NHS Faculty Council by the firm October 1 deadline to be considered for induction. To assist them in doing so, all of these students met with NHS Advisor Mr. Andrew Baker during Titan Time yesterday. At this meeting, Mr. Baker reviewed the process for submitting a student profile packet. This process must be followed accurately and completely, with all timelines within the process met punctually. No packet submitted after October 1 will be considered. The Faculty Council then reviews all packets to determine which students will be accepted into our National Honor Society. Parents should remind their children of the importance of adhering to the process and meeting all deadlines.

UPCOMING DATES OF NOTE:

  • 9/23 - Early Release Day - student dismissal at 11:15 a.m. (NEW time for ERDs)
