Principal's Message
Ride Family,
Wow! What an incredible week of celebrations for our Ride Family!
I could not be more proud of our amazing teachers, staff, and students! This week, Ride was recognized by the CISD School Improvement Team for outstanding achievement in BOTH Academic Growth and Relative Performance for 2026! These two awards are a tremendous honor and a reflection of the incredible work happening in our classrooms every single day.
To make this celebration even more special, our teachers received a personal handwritten note from our Superintendent, Dr. David Vinson, recognizing Ride's outstanding performance on the 2026 STAAR Assessment. He celebrated Ride as the only CISD elementary campus to receive both of these top performer awards! What an incredible accomplishment!
While these awards are exciting, what makes me most proud is the hard work behind them. Our teachers pour their hearts into helping students grow, meet their goals, and believe in themselves. They spend countless hours planning, analyzing data, providing interventions, and finding ways to challenge every learner. And our students continue to amaze us with what they can accomplish!
Ride Family, this is something worth celebrating! These awards belong to every teacher, staff member, student, and family who makes Ride such a special place. I am beyond grateful to work alongside such dedicated educators and to have a community that believes so deeply in our students.
Congratulations, Ride! Our Challengers are growing, achieving, and reaching new heights! 🚀❤️💙

GT Referral Window
Testing Referral requests are now open for Conroe Independent School District Gifted and Talented program. Although the testing will not take place until late January, referral requests are accepted at this time. Referral requests can be made by the parents and/or campus staff. It is recommended that parents of 2nd grade students wait until CogAT scores have arrived before nominating their child because CogAT scores are part of the GT assessment. If you are interested in referring your child, you may want to discuss this with your child’s teacher. Referrals will be accepted October 1 - December 19, 2026. You may request a referral form from the front office or your child's teacher or you can download the form below. Please send the completed form to the school addressed to Bree Jones
Permission for Ridgewood Park
Throughout the school year, Ride Elementary students may visit Ridgewood Park for special events, activities, and learning experiences. Please complete this form to give permission for your child to visit, play, and participate in activities at Ridgewood Park with their class and teacher.
Please complete one form for each child who attends Ride Elementary.
Before each planned visit to Ridgewood Park, your child’s classroom teacher will send an email with information about the special event or activity.

Birthday Treats
To help us keep everyone safe and ensure celebrations run smoothly, please remember that any birthday treats brought to school must follow our treat guidelines. Treats should be commercially prepared, nut-free, and clearly labeled with ingredients.
**Please note that we can not accept birthday treats from Shipley’s Donuts, as their corporate office has informed us that their products contain nuts.**
Treats that do not meet these guidelines will not be permitted in the classroom. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us celebrate safely!

Breakfast & Lunch
Parents are encouraged to prepay for their child’s meals through myschoolbucks.com. Please allow up to 48 hours for payments to be applied to your child’s account.
Breakfast is served daily from 7:30–7:55 a.m. Breakfast costs $2.00, and a regular student lunch is $3.20. À la carte items are also available for purchase at varying prices.
For menus, nutrition information, and additional details, please visit the CISD Child Nutrition website.
If sending cash or a check to school, please place it in a sealed envelope labeled with your child’s name, ID number, and grade level to ensure the payment is applied correctly. Checks should be made payable to CISD Child Nutrition and include the parent’s driver’s license number and date of birth. Free and Reduced-Price Meals
Families interested in applying for free or reduced-price meals may complete an application through myschoolapps.com. Students who do not qualify for the free or reduced-price meal program will need funds in their account or payment at the time of purchase for breakfast and lunch.
Lunch Visitors
We have found that the first few weeks of school are an important time for students to build independence, learn routines, and become comfortable in their new environment. To support this transition, we kindly ask that parents and guardians wait until August 24 before joining their child for lunch.
Due to limited seating in our cafeteria, all lunch visitors will be required to sign up in advance. We will share additional information, including the lunch visitor sign-up process, in the coming weeks.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we help our Challengers get off to a great start this school year!
School Hours
School hours are 7:50 a.m. - 3:10 p.m. Students must be in their classroom before the 7:55 a.m. bell rings, or they will be considered tardy. Please note that 7:30 a.m. is the earliest time that your child may be dropped off. We do not have staff available to supervise students until that time.
Tardy Policy - A student is tardy if not in the classroom at 7:50 a.m. If your child is tardy, parents must sign him/her in at the front office. When a student is tardy, an e-mail will be sent to the student’s guardian for notification.
