What's Happening?
MCAS Reminders: Next week marks the beginning of what I call "MCAS Season." The MCAS helps us understand our students' strengths and areas for improvement. It assists us in analyzing our curriculum and practices at Fowler and across the district. Please remember that MCAS does not measure character, grit, kindness, or empathy.
To help our students feel prepared, consider the following:
Positive talk at home about taking the test
A good night's rest
A healthy breakfast
Positive encouragement to do their best
A charged Chromebook
Thank you for your ongoing support in preparing our students for this critical assessment.
As we continue to work together, I want to thank you for your involvement and dedication to our school community and for supporting our students. Have a great weekend!
Keith
PLEASE CONTINUE TO REINFORCE THESE SCHOOL RULES BELOW
Ebike and Scooter Concerns: As warmer weather arrives, we're noticing a significant increase in safety concerns with students using e-bikes and scooters. While we understand that home expectations for safe use are beyond our control, it's important to inform our community that many students are riding without helmets, navigating through traffic, and carrying passengers who also lack helmets. We share this out of care, as the most difficult conversation is informing a caregiver that their child was injured traveling to or from school. Please take some time to establish clear safety expectations and community courtesy guidelines so we can all work together to keep our students safe.
Absence Notification: If you student is going to be absent we need to be notified. Please make sure you call the absence line at 978-897-6753
Beverage Consumption: As a reminder please do not send your student into school with beverages other than water. Having Dunkin Donuts cups, and smilar items, is not permitted into the classrooms. We ask that students consume their speciality drinks prior to the start of the morning school bell.
Cell Phone Reminder: Fowler Middle School is a cell phone–free school. Students are expected to keep their phones off and away during the school day so they can stay focused on learning and engaging with their teachers and classmates. Thank you for helping us support a distraction-free learning environment.
