Feeling Festive

We've reached the time of year at MTES where we are all wishing that time would slow down. Our mindset is constantly in the "forward thinking" mode as we plan and anticipate what's to come... our next event, concert, celebration, or dress up days. These are just some of the things that make life at MTES the best! However, as we approach Christmas break after just having celebrated Thanksgiving, we are hoping that the days are slow, and the enjoyable moments plentiful. For some, this time of year brings overwhelming joy as they celebrate with friends and family. For others, it is a painful reminder of time once spent with loved ones. However this season finds you and yours, the MTES family wants you to know that you are deeply appreciated.

Symphonic Sounds

Thanks to the organizational efforts by Nicole Fatica-Mavis (MTES Curriculum Director), Jack Anders (Transportation Director), Julie Manbevers (Head Cook), and Lori Carey/Melissa Steele (Team Leaders), our 2nd grade students and staff had the opportunity to attend a performance by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. This event took place on November 25th at the Cincinnati Music Hall, and students were "wowed" by the many talents of the musicians, as well as the sheer beauty of the venue. We are thankful for opportunities such as this, and look forward to many more!

A Timely Transition

As the saying goes, "all good things must come to an end." The past eight years at Miami Trace Elementary School have proven to be so much more than "good" for me. I met and adopted my son, established new and successful initiatives, celebrated a 4.5 star rating as a school, and forged professional relationships that will stand the test of time. I have experienced highs and lows, laughter and tears, successes and failures, and through it all, the Miami Trace Elementary School family has supported my leadership. Life as a school administrator can be lonely at times. It can test a person's fortitude and commitment... but it is all worth it. As I finish up my time at MTES, there is a sense of peace that comes over me... the reassurance that our school is in the best possible hands. These hands are those of Mrs. Sunny Cummings - Assistant Principal, Mrs. Nicole Fatica-Mavis - Curriculum Director, Ms. Robyn Huddle - Special Education Supervisor, and Mr. Eric Tattersall. Mr. Tattersall will assume the role of Principal, beginning January 1st, and he will be forging ahead with this team of administrators in their continued pursuit of educational excellence. Mr. Tattersall brings many things to this position, including: commitment, excellence, professionalism, compassion, creativity, empathy, and more. However, his biggest asset is his ability to approach each and every student, family, staff member, and situation with integrity. "Mr. T," as he is affectionately known, has proven over and over again that no situation is too large, or too small. He has enhanced our school in more ways than can be counted, and I am confident that under his leadership, MTES will continue to reach new heights. I would like to say THANK YOU to our students, families, staff members, PTO, and especially our administrative team for your support the past eight years. It has been nothing short of amazing. I wish you all the best, and a tremendous Holiday season. M-T-E-S, it's been a pleasure.
