Morning Worship and Devotion
Daily Scripture Focus
Each morning we start the day with a time of singing and a word from scripture. Morning devotion time is a time for focus, learning, and putting God first in what we do each day.
The morning devotion is led by Mr. Yearwood most days, but there are also weekly opportunities for students and faculty members to lead.
Some of the scriptures used this week were:
- Acts 1:4-6
- Acts 1:8
- Acts 6:1-7
- Acts 6:8-15
- Acts 8:1-3
A Look Back at Last Week
Johnny Appleseed
Students enjoyed dressing up like Johnny Appleseed and learning more about God's creation, the importance of trees, caring for the environment, and caring for others.
Exercising Our Bodies and Brains
PE is a great time to not only get physical exercise to help our bodies grow and be healthy, but also a time to exercise our brains! Participating in relay and multi-task games encourages students to think ahead and work together.
Student Aides
We are so thankful for our student helpers! Each day students from the upper school volunteer time to help prep materials and complete other tasks for elementary classes. Thank you for serving!
New Storage and Organization
Thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Brooks we have a new storage area for all the cleaning necessities in the gym. If you have spent any time in the main building, you know that storage space is a challenge! We appreciate their hard work in so many projects around campus.
Feeling Fall
The hallways, classrooms, and doorways at the Beech campus are feeling like Fall! Thank you to all the PTF parents and volunteers that have been decorating this week for the fall season!
Excitement for Reading
Students at the lower school are enjoying the Bookmobile visits each week. We are so thankful for this resource as we encourage students to develop an excitement and love for reading.
Carpet Time
Carpet time is a favorite learning time in primary grades! Students enjoy time listening and participating in group practice as well as reading time.
Civil Air Visitor
Students at the upper school had the opportunity to learn more about the opportunities provided by the Civil Air Patrol. The CAP program includes activities in aerospace, STEM, aviation, and other areas. Students interested can learn more online and on the attached brochure.
PTF Kick Off Meeting
The PTF (Parent Teacher Fellowship) held their first meeting of the year on Thursday. During the meeting officers for the year were elected and parents discussed upcoming events and opportunities to serve.
End of the Week
You know it's been a great, fun-packed, exhausting week when Friday afternoon looks like this!

Come Join Us at the Fair Parade
It is shaping up to be another super busy week at CCS. NEXT SATURDAY October 4th we will have a float in the Cullman County Fair Parade. We are inviting students to ride or walk with the float.
Here's what you need to know:
- Each child should wear CCS colors
- 6th grade and under should be accompanied by an adult
- Bring a bag of candy to toss
If you can't make it on Saturday, you can support the cause and send a bag of candy with your student to school.
We do not have a set time and place to meet yet due to the way they give out placement for the fair. The parade starts at 2:00 pm so tentative meeting time would be 1:00 pm. We will send out a text message when we know where our place in the parade will be.

Continued Learning
A Note from Mrs. Yearwood:
I really hate being away from school, and to be honest, most people probably didn't even notice, but I had the opportunity to attend the AACC (American Association of Christian Counselors) World Conference in Nashville this week. It's hard to be away from home, but this conference was such a blessing! Not only did I have the opportunity to grow professionally, but I also got to worship the Lord together with 7,000+ counselors and mental health professionals from around the world. Thank you for your patience in my absence. I will be back at school as normal on Monday!
Some of my favorite parts: Worship with Chris Tomlin & Charles Billingsly, inspirational messages from Gary Chapman, Lysa Terkeurst, Jennie Allen, and so many more!
