What's Happening at Woodside?
On Friday, our school practiced a Lockdown Drill. This practice helps us all learn what to do in case of an emergency. We do these drills to make sure everyone knows how to stay safe. As we moved into the first full week of Trimester 2, our Middle School students started a new Exploration elective for 6th period. We caught a Buddy Activity in action: our seventh grade big buddies presented their slide presentations to their 4th grade buddies! Our third graders have completed their California Aquarium Project with a Steelhead Release! Check out the photos below from these weekend releases open to families. Our second graders enjoyed a day at the Sacramento Zoo! We love seeing our Cougars enjoying these experiences and thank our volunteers for helping to make it happen!

Innovative School Design Updates
Have you heard about our outdoor learning and garden space? It was one of our biggest prototypes last year, involving students across multiple grade levels. As we head into spring, even more classes will be planting in their garden boxes and using the space for hands-on outdoor learning experiences.
Do you have a green thumb or an interest in gardening? We’d love to start a Family Garden Crew to help support this growing work. If you're interested, send me an email at dvictor@sanjuan.edu — we’d love to have you join us!
Clubs
There is not much change to our Clubs schedule for Trimester 3. Our Lunch Clubs remain: Student Senate & Latin X on Tuesdays, Glee Club on Wednesdays, Diversity Club and Design Club on Thursdays.

Thank you for all the families who participated in the See's Candy fundraiser! We are eager to see the profits of the sales.
Our next fundraiser is Round Table Pizza April 9th from 11:00am- 10:00pm located in Citrus Heights.
The Jog-a-thon is coming up April 25th! This is always a school favorite because classes get to participate in having fun running for fundraising. A flyer will be sent home soon. We will also be sending a volunteer sign-up for parents and community members who would like to help out. We are looking to add a Buddies aspect to this and welcome you to come cheer on your student. Feel free to bring a poster to encourage!
May 1st, we have another Skate Night fundraiser at RollerKing in Roseville from 6:00-8:00pm.

Why it matters:
CAASPP tests are given statewide. They provide an opportunity to measure the skills of all students against the same academic standards, ensuring a fair and comprehensive evaluation. The results provide information that schools can use to improve teaching and learning and ensure students graduate college and career-ready. We appreciate all Site Coordinators for their careful planning of test administration and all teachers who support and encourage students.
