EHE Connection
May 2, 2022
Greetings, Laker Families-
April was an amazing month of community involvement at Emerald Hills! Our PTA Art Docents are actively volunteering at all grade levels and the students are loving creating art and celebrating their work on display in our hallways! Our WatchDOG volunteers are providing a positive presence in our hallways, in the classroom, and on the playground. Apex was “in the house” April 11-21 preparing students for the Fun Run….the Apex team leaders provided positive energy and leadership lessons in the classrooms building upon Lakers being safe, respectful, and responsible and our Purposeful People monthly character traits. Thank you for everyone’s support of the PTA Fun Run with donations and for coming on site to cheer on the students if you were able on April 22. Because of the generosity of our Laker community, the PTA raised $27,463 to support classroom enrichment, field trips, the school garden, family/community events, etc. Finally, we welcomed our incoming 2022-23 kindergarten students and families at our Round Up event last week.

Chris Anderson, our newly hired assistant principal, is currently the district Highly Capable TOSA. She will begin transitioning to her role at EHE on Monday, May 16, and we are excited that our staff, students, and families will get to see her on campus more and more. We are thankful for this opportunity to allow Chris to onboard with us as we wrap up strong and start planning for next year!

Thank you for your continued support of our school community. Our Laker Purposefull People Character Trait for the month of May is “Perseverance…The ability to work through situations even when there are obstacles or challenges in the way.” Your follow up at home reinforcing your child as he/she demonstrates “perseverance” each day would be a wonderful home-school connection. The background for our Laker Purposefull People Character Traits can be accessed through the Character Strong website. Thank you for raising such amazing children that desire to be Purposefull People.
